Another FB "discussion" with a 'friend' anti

We've been going back and forth. He lives in CA, you would NOT want to see what he believes the 2nd amendment 'allows' us to own/carry/use.
He asked me what are my solutions. I offered few and the first one was to END Gun Free Zone.

This is his response:

End Gun free zones will not solve the problem in any way. The argument that these shootings are happening only in gun free zones is preposterous. The people committing these shootings, first do not care and second, because the gun owners will conceal them, will not even be aware that there are people with guns in the schools, or wherever they may be.

I don't even know how to respond to such an idiotic statement.

Exactly right. He answered his own questions.......so why not allow those that want to carry because, as your friend said...."the gun owners will conceal them" and then if it's a teacher or other staff person an armed response is immediate to any potential person committing these shootings. Seems your friend is on our side but doesn't realize it yet....
 
He doesn't sound very smart.

You're better off walking away from arguments with people like this. He's too stupid to see facts and truth waved in front of his face, and he's clearly been convinced that guns are inherently evil. Spare your blood pressure and tell him to F off.

Ask him, if he were a criminal, and his favorite pastime was breaking into homes, if he had to choose a home that he knew was occupied only by an elderly person living alone, or a home with someone who had NRA stickers on their vehicles, and pro-gun related material on their property, WHICH house would he go for and why ??? I'd like to see his response for that one....

It's interesting how you have certain perception of someone (to be intelligent or smart, or to be less intelligent or a complete moron). I certainly thought of him to be pretty reasonable and intelligent person. But this response from him...wow. Speechless.
Frankly - can't decide if it's coming from personal stupidity or from a hardcore liberal DNA that 'makes' you say these things.
Yeah, I know what they say about liberalism ;)

Just tell him how surprised you are that he can't think for himself and that he was subdued by the left's brainwashing tactics and accepted them as fact just to fit in because of how weak he is. Tell him you thought he was a much stronger person who actually was smart enough to see through the rhetoric and lies and defend individual freedoms and that you are sorry he is not the person you thought he was and you are ashamed how easily you were taken in by his false persona.....
 
I am mostly done with these kinds of discussions and avoid them like the plague

With 100% certainty, they have no desire to hear my thoughts - only to feel better on their end by 'proving' me wrong.
There is no winning or compromised understanding to be gained, just a waste of time IMHO

At work or within my social circle, if people really want to engage, I start with something to the effect of "if you hear things you may not agree with are you able to have an open discussion or are you just going to get angry" - quite a bit of people don't want to continue.

Although at our worldwide meetings I do enjoying trolling the Europeans ;)

I'm pretty sure it's against the law in Florida to carry in a bar/club so it's a gun free zone. San Bernadino was a workplace if I remember correctly and their policy probably prohibits firearms. I'm not sure but you could look it up. Also you could send him this:

GFZ's are improperly named. They should be referred to as "Criminal Empowerment Zones".

Just by the very name alone, evil knows where to go to inflict the most damage.
 
Gun Free Zones aside, when he said that shooters "do not care" he basically proved the point that the various restrictions in place are already worthless because criminals by their very nature ignore them.
 
If he comes back to it ask him how that "less guns less violence" thing is working for Venezuela.

Yes its upsetting to them because they'd be forced to face the fact that they're being wholly irrational at some point or another. That's like an L2 or L3 anti. If it was an L4 it would just keep regurgitating canned statements back at you from the playbook they all seem to carry around. L4s are particularly annoying because they basically don't even bother to read whatever you send at all, they just pick some canned response and send it back.

L1s sometimes progress can be had with them; but theyre much like others who havent been fully infected yet.

If it's an L3 or L4 yeah you're basically wasting your time. Their brains are already pretty much rotted with maggots carrying little socialist flags spilling out. The L4s also may be a bit worse because they seem to be adept at trying to provoke a bad response, ostensibly so they can sic the cops on you or something... If it feels like they are trying to trap you, then they probably are. I basically stopped arguing with these people because I was pretty sure that eventually I would have said something to one of them that would have caused the Waffen SS to show up at my door- and I'm like- "this is a TRAP, f*** this shit. " And I just blocked them.

Honestly I'd stay away from political shit at work, but mileage varies. That's not a bad way to approach it.

Which basically exposes the left's lie that they don't just want to ban the scary assault rifles, they want total confiscation. The wet dream of the left is a total confiscation of all guns, period. And according to their logic, when there will be no guns at all in the streets, there will be no violence.

EXACTLY. This is what everyone needs to UNDERSTAND with this progressive debate. I will say it again and keep saying until it sinks in.

THIS ISN'T ABOUT "SAFETY" FOR THE PROGRESSIVES. THIS IS ABOUT EVENTUAL CONFISCATION. THEY ARE ONLY USING THESE SHOOTINGS TO MOVE FORWARD WITH THEIR AGENDA WITH MISDIRECTION AND FEELS. THEY ARE MASTERS AT THE END GAME.
