I can't hit anything with my 12 gauge Mossburg 500 with a slug barrel. I use to blame the gun, I now accept that I don't like the recoil and have the mother of all flinches. I'm in the market for a 20 gauge slug gun for hunting and will put a shotgun scope on it. I'm thinking of getting a Model 11-87™ Sportsman® Deer

The 11-87 is a proven firearm. This will be a dedicated 20 gauge slug gun, I have a couple 20 bird and field guns. Gunbroker has them listed for about $400. I was going to have Carl order me one.
I'm open for other suggestions. The Ithaca Deerslayer III is interesting, having had a factory tour when they actually were in Ithaca, but they seem to run about $1200. I'll never get a 200 yard shot hunting in New England.
Advice please, I'm looking for a good dedicated 20 gauge slug gun for deer hunting that I will be scoping out.
Thank you for your advice
