Washington DC – -(Ammoland.com)- On December 29 2015, actor James Woods reacted to newly released details of the heinous November 10 murder of Amanda Blackburn by urging Americans to “buy more guns and learn how to use them.”

Blackburn was the wife of Pastor Davey Blackburn, who left his home to go the gym on November 10, only to have three suspects enter the home and kill his wife while he was gone.

According to USA Today, police said Amanda was knocked to the floor, then “accused triggerman Larry Taylor” allegedly “leaned over Blackburn’s body and shot the young mother in the back of the head.” Police said Taylor then “leaned further” and “looked at her face. And he watched her bleed.”

Taylor is also accused of raping a woman on November 3–while his accomplices allegedly robbed the woman’s apartment–and of killing a man on November 4.

James Woods responded to these reports not with calls for more gun control, but with a call for more guns in the hands of law-abiding citizens who want to defend their own lives, their children’s lives, and their homes.

Little by little people (even Hollywood wussies) are figuring it out

James Woods is anything but a Hollywood wussie. He has always been very conservative, so much so that he's no longer offered acting work. He also has a very high IQ, reported to be around 180, at the very edge (5 standard deviations from the mean) of where the IQ number says anything meaningful.

I didn't mean to suggest he was....bad choice of words on my part. More and more Hollywood 'people' are figuring it out

Dropped out of MIT to pursue acting.

Can you name a Hollywood liberal who has changed their view?

No but I have noticed that some Hollywood conservatives have become more vocal about gun ownership and less concerned about how it may affect how they're perceived. Hollywood liberals will always be retards

Woods rips obama on his twitter feed all the time. He's made enough where he doesn't GAF anymore and speaks his mind [laugh2]

He's also a Coke fiend

He's a member of MENSA and a card shark (he can count cards) at the casinos in Connecticut. I've watched him clean plenty of not too wise people out at Foxwoods.

Your point? It just means like many of us he probably thinks the WOD is total insanity and is pro active about it. If those allegations are true he can well afford his habit.

But, but you say he is supporting cartels and organized crime, true but those cartels only exist because of the stupidity of our laws.

I noticed that too. I think people across the country sense we are heading toward a bad place, and the survival instinct is starting to kick in, and override silly accouttrements of a spoiled soft society - like political correctness.

Just saying every time I see him at foxwoods the dude is out of his mind on blow

Possibly, but he is suing the person who accused him of that on Twitter

I tried to determine with a web search if Woods is a current Mensa member, but it seems unconfirmed (with some controversy), which doesn't mean much. Some "famous" people have a current membership and are listed in the member directory (Jean Auel, Adrian Cronauer, Leon Feingold, Alan Rachins) and some people are frequently reported to be Mensans but are not listed for whatever reason (Asia Carrera, Geena Davis, John McAfee, James Woods).

This could mean that they are not current members or that they want anonymity or something else, but "once a Mensan, always a Mensan." In that respect, it's like being a Marine. Although members will frequently joke if they do something "stupid" that maybe they should be retested for membership, current policy is that once you pass the test (you get two tries), then you're in. You can even let your membership lapse, and if you ever want to become a member again all you have to do is pay the annual fee, but you're not listed if you're not a current member.

I have no doubt that James Woods is an extremely intelligent man, and I know there are others here who would qualify for Mensa as well. I can tell from reading some of your posts through the years. I believe I've read that there are about 11,000 members here. Based on that number, statistically over 200 of you would qualify. Some of you would even be able to join based upon the high scores you got on tests you took in college or elsewhere, but being highly educated is not necessary—or even an advantage.

While Mensa is not without moonbats, there was significant 2A progress within the organization during 2015. Interested legal gun owners reading this can feel free to PM me for more info.

Carrera and Davis have been dues paid members in the past. No info about McAfee or Woods.

People dont need to stock up on guns. People need to get one or two good pistols, rifles and/or shotguns and then stock up on training and ammo. Cant have enough of those.

I was once invited to join Mensa. I went to a meet and greet--some of the dumbest people I ever met. I only thought about it because I heard Raquel Welch was a member (yeah, I'm that old). Also, I could teach a monkey to count cards at blackjack in about 15 minutes. The simplest method is to count 3s, 4s, 5s, and 6s as plus one and 10-Ks as minus one, and keep an ace side count. You can literally learn this in minutes; after that, it's all practice.

Did Mensa receive evidence of a high score on a test you'd taken? I'm guessing that's the case because people are not "invited to join" until they've passed a qualifying test at the 98th percentile (top 2 percent) or better.

It's too bad you thought they were dumb, but maybe you were looking for a different kind of intelligence which the Mensans you met didn't exhibit to you. There could be many reasons it didn't work out, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that you did not go into the meet-and-greet asking for Raquel. [wink]

You obviously don't like Mensa, but there are other "high IQ" organizations that have even more demanding standards. Maybe one of them would be more in line with your superior intellect; however, be warned that there are so few people who qualify that members of all these groups tend to party together at the same events (with long lines of coke when JW is in attendance! j/k).

I don't know, the more training I get, the less confident I feel.

If you are serious, this is a very interesting comment.

Feeling less confident (if it's an accurate assessment of your skills) could be a good thing. Over-confidence could get you killed, but on the other hand is Ken Hackathorn’s Law:
If you’re not confident in your ability to perform a task, you will not even attempt it under stress.
...which could also get you killed!

Would you elaborate on how/why your training has left you feeling less confident (if you know)? I'm wondering if it's a deficiency in the instruction you've gotten, and as a trainer for over 20 years, I'd like to know what's going on here.
