Anybody else notice the acorns are in pretty short supply this year?

Nope...bad season for pollination. The spring rains knocked most of the airborne pollen down before it could do its job. Happens every once in a while.

I've noticed this as well. The tree in my front yard hasn't produced any, most years there is a ton of them everywhere.

It seemed like I had acorns falling for about 2 months. Never a lot at once but a continuous supply.

no acorns here either but plenty of chestnuts and them little helicopter thingy's that fall from trees. The squirrels a few months back were going nuts collecting everything makes me think its gunna be a good winter... fingers crossed

Last year the acorns were piled up under the oak trees. Literally, shitloads of them. This year, not so much. We owe it to the deer to hunt & kill them so they don't starve over the winter. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.

Yep. Several reports that the deer are in the corn fields around here.
