Washington State Assault Weapons Ban Text

I had been thinking of Washington as a alternative to California but this BS crosses that state off the list.

The text for the Washington State Assault Weapons Ban has been released. SB6396

No semiautomatic pistols or pump action shotguns. No clips beyond 10 rounds. Class C Felonies

If you already own semi-auto guns defined as “assault weapons” the Sherriff can inspect your home once per year to make sure they are stored safely.

If you are found out of compliance it's a gross misdemeanor.

You are only allowed to fire semi-auto or pump action guns at licensed shooting ranges if this bill passes.



***People in Washington State needs to contact their reps and tell them to vote against this unconstitutional ban.

No change in our gun laws. This election is about dissatisfaction about the health care bill and the economy, not about gun laws.

I would be really surprised if any of this made it into law in Washington, or even got out of the gate. It has traditionally been a VERY strong RKBA state. They are a shall issues state. You have to show up in person, but the process is simple and fairly cheap - $56. And the nice booklet they giving you summarizing their laws also reprints the second amendment, their state version of same and reminds you of your right to keep and bear arms.

Remember, in every legislative session at the state or federal level, most bills never see the light of day. Any legislature member can introduce any bill without regard to popularly or likelihood of success.
