Uvalde shooting triggers closer look at gun laws; Massachusetts lawmakers ‘extremely proud’ but say they will review additional reforms

as i my own kids go through the hig/middle school now - what is it you think schools could do? who exactly in the school? a guidance councilor? alert state`s social workers? those f#ckers do not care. the whole system is as ineffective as it can be.

they will go ahead with gun control, then knives control, then axes controls, then it will, may be, finally get back to mental health control where it was supposed to begin with.

Oh I can fix it inside of generation. Maybe inside of a decade.

Parent-shaming.

Think of all the problems you could solve by parent shaming.

In Taunton, kids get free breakfast AND lunch at school because "parents are too poor to afford it." Yeah. 58c for breakfast and 92c for lunch is too much out of their pockets. Shame the parents. Kids bring PB&J and eat breakfast at home. Just like we did 30 years ago. Problem solved.

School shooter - make the parents, alive or dead, pariahs. Lay that blame squarely where it belongs. WTF is the matter with you raising a moron like that???? Suddenly, the parents pay a bit more careful attention to their twisted progeny.

Kids acting out in school? Bad grades?? All of it solved by placing blame back where it belongs.

Oh, and you'd see a whole flourishing of inner-city black culture as you embarass the HELL out of young black men who hit-and-quit. Make them look like the a**h***s they are for being barely baby-daddies and the inner city explodes in prosperity.

But that would "huwt deah feewings."

I'm old enough to remember when Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold fashioned bombs with propane tanks in gym bags set to go off in their lunch room. Thank God they didn't. I'm also old enough to remember when the Tsarnaev brothers used bombs with ball bearings and pressure cookers, also in gym bags/back packs. Unfortunately they did go off and we all know what happened. If you blame the tool, you're missing the point. You need to disarm the motivation, not the tool. These insane a**h***s will run you down with a stolen garbage truck or school bus if you try to disarm them. Taking away everyones' ability to defend themselves just gives these a**h***s more defenseless targets. "Gun free zones" are just target-rich environments. The $40b we just pissed away to Ukraine could have employed a shit ton of school RSOs and expanded funding for revolutionary improvements in mental health research/resources/care.

House Speaker Ronald Mariano said he is “extremely proud” of Massachusetts’ gun laws Wednesday — considered some of the tightest in the nation — while Senate President Karen Spilka said her branch would take a look at potential reforms in the wake of a Texas school shooting that left 19 children and two teachers dead.

An 18-year-old gunman walked into a classroom at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas and opened fire at “anyone that was in his way,” authorities there said. The school shooting was the deadliest in the United States since 20 children and six adults were killed at Sandy Hook Elementary in Connecticut in 2012 and comes two weeks after 10 Black people were killed at a Buffalo, New York supermarket.

Continues…

Politicians claim AR15’s are illegal in Massachusetts.
Murder is illegal. WTF other laws are needed????

like we all know - for a parent shaming to work there must be parents who care.

when parents not there - shaming kids instead gets them into depression and makes them mentally sick.

People don't like to look like tools. Even if they HATE their kids, the risk of being singled out is just too high to NOT get it in gear. A few well-placed PSA's and the rest would be magic. But, again, it makes people FEEEL BAAAAAD. And we can't have that.

you`ll be surprised of what the police can do when it is properly unleashed upon people at a full force. as police only serves and protects those whom it reports to.
as if you do think that they cannot incarcerate you all - think again.

you just take for granted that a little trip into a penitentiary is an unavoidable part of life and get ready to whatever. it was definitely easier in a socialist society with a virtually free lodging and minimal living expenses. here in a society of economic slavery with a mortgage and credit card debts and credit scores you will end up a homeless bum.

I'm not counting on police, I'm counting on the armed populace. The government can only go so far. It's one thing to read about some guy in the news getting his rights taken, but when it's people you know it's different. We're not there yet.

Remember Alexandria, the baseball game where our politicians were crying in terror cause of one armed citizen? Picture that magnified 100,000 times.

Exactly! Why does DSS insist on keeping kids with f**** up Mothers? Almost everyone one of these shooters had parents who didn't act and knew their kids were ticking timebombs. The Buffalo shooters parents were upper middleclass Engineers, why weren't they monitoring their kids online rants? Lanza's Mommy provided him with the weapons, Little Nicky's, the Parkland shooters adoptive Mommy had died but the family he was living with knew he was a timebomb and owned an AR. The gangbangers causing chaos in our inner cities live with their Mommy's in public housing or section 8 and Mommy doesn't know they have illegal guns and are gangbangers. If they started evicted these DB's these little Monsters would cease and desist their behavior or be living under bridges.

what are the odds?

Do we know that Ramos was one of the two arrested in 2018 for plotting a mass casualty event at Uvalde Middle School? They were under age then so their names couldn't be included in the story.

“I hear some of those in Texas that say it’s not the answer to have tighter gun control. That is absolutely the wrong thought, look at the states that do have tighter gun control,” Spilka told reporters Wednesday morning. “These instances are not happening like they’re happening in Texas and some other states.”

OK. I guess some crazy didn't just shoot up a supermarket in Buffalo NY last week. Isn't NY right up there with CA and MA for crazy non-effective gun laws.

It will happen in Mass eventually. There's nothing magic in what they have for laws.
Every year the kids get worse as far as their mental and emotional state. Coddling a child until they are old enough to make their own decisions just creates a generation of developmentally arrested adults.
They don't have morals or know what responsibility is, having never been shown it.

Dozens are shot in each of the following cities every weekend - Chicago, Baltimore, Detroit, Philly, NYC, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, etc, all controlled by democrats. Chicago, NYC and LA have some of the most stringent gun control laws in the country. Crime is through the roof in all these cities. Democrat policies created this. Gun control doesn't work.

Yea but at 6 years old they can tell if they want a sex change operation.

You could start by not allowing your kids to be shitheads and being a responsible parent.
It ain’t my job to watch your kids. You brung em. You watch em.

Found this comment on Jezebel re: the police waiting outside for 45min. Hopefully they won't figure out that if there aren't any police there won't be anyone to enforce their beloved gun control laws.

Here is a link to the best take I have seen yet, which is from the WSJ editorial board. Linking to another site reposting, since WSJ requires a subscription to the whole opinion.

yup

Fortunately, our local dingbat went for broke during a press conference yesterday and probably ended his political career in Texas.
depends upon of how many californians you have imported in so far...

FBI believes that the Tsarniev brothers didn't make their own bombs, the actual maker may still be out there.

Ya think??

I needed to get buzzed in every time I had to go to the school. The office staff all knew who I was. In fact I was eating lunch almost daily with one woman’s husband who was also the retired Deputy on the FD whom I worked under.

Didn’t matter that they could all see me thru the plate glass windows in the office while talking to me outside on the speaker. 😂

lets hope another gun shop doesn't help us out with another super helpful interview.

I'd take a gun shop laying down the law at this point regarding law enforcement and the backhandedness of the GC movement in concert with the media. Record it simultaneously and release the full video if the studio won't. We're now at the point the signal will reach just as far if you call out the reporters and make the right calls- it's time to capitalize.

If cops aren't willing to enter to protect, there is no obligation of any citizen to surrender anything. Never has been. Recent events have simply reaffirmed this fact. And the American people are ready to accept this message.

I’m afraid when it comes to that their version of mental health control it will involve a one way railroad and an unpleasant destination

I’m afraid when it comes to that their version of mental health control it will involve a one way railroad and an unpleasant destination
and the question is - as unpleasant as it sounds, what other ways are there for that issue? to do nothing and send them back or 'let them live' in the society we have now.
