Upcoming Goal Legislation

Outstanding list! Good luck, GOAL!

(donation inbound)

Edit - OK, not so much a donation, as buying three raffle tickets for $20. I won the M1 Carbine last raffle. Hoping for the GP100 this time.

^ for those who want to help, too!

I bought some too.
Since they can't mail the raffle tickets out to us, do we have to pick them up or will they email us our raffle numbers? I'm asking because you've won before :)

From my experience, the answer is "none of the above."

You just have to trust that they threw your numbers in the thingy.

I know its nitpicky, but i really wish they would stop using gun every where and use firearm.

Lol at FOAL. I was checking out the list the other day and I'd do backflips if we could finally get all mail-order ammo companies to ship here. Fishing for different companies when your regular supplier changes shipping policies sucks.

Nothing against GOAL, but I give these measures approximately zero percent chance of passing. MA hates guns, gun owners and the constitution. Not much chance of these measures passing at all. I don't foresee LTC's becoming shall-issue, despite the supreme court decision that states that the right to protect oneself is guaranteed both within and without one's home.

I feel like that could be the best line of attack.
I know this state is horrible at defending our rights but it's hard to ignore SJC rulings.

+1

when it comes to our freedoms, there is no net neutrality. we either fight to restore our freedoms or we can continue to lose them bit by bit. while most of us agree the proposed legislation has an approximately zero % chance of passing in beacon hill, it is still important to support GOAL on such issues.....the gungrabbers and socialists are pushing to destroy our country through shit legislation so we need to provide a constant resistance.

Agreed: Keep chipping away at the iceberg and pray for global warming.

Sometimes, you have to fight the fight, likely outcome notwithstanding.

"Who shall be heard? Those that cry loudest? No, for all cry loudly. Those that cry longest shall be heard, and justice done to them."

Who was the voice of reason when H.4376 was being tweaked ? GOAL!

H.4376 can be used against unfair licensing practices to make LCOs more accountable for any unlawful indiscretion. Who helped open the gate so that orgs like Comm2A can legally battle out subjective licensing problems ? GOAL!

It honestly appears like GOAL is acting on what many words-only 2A supporters want changed. Even if we get something that applies to a few of us, such as increasing the non-MA LTC term to six years, is huge! These things don't just happen on their own.

Personally, I think getting "An Act Relative to Constitutional Rights" (http://www.goal.org/legislation.html) to become law would be the proverbial "unleashing of the wolves".
IANAL, but it seems like it would open many doors in
terms of litigation and legislation.

And that right there is why MASS won't significantly change in our lifetimes. If you don't think you can change it, you won't try and if you don't try - IT WONT HAPPEN.

If GOAL does not do this sort of thing, we will be fighting their bills instead of them fighting ours. Think of GOAL as the counterbalancing force to Linsky which gives the committees plenty of bills on both side to "refer to study".

You can rah, rah, rah all you want, but the fact of the matter is that gun owners are a tiny percent of the population in MA and moonbats make up the rest of it. You can protest, fight, contribute all you want, but we're seriously outnumbered and our enemies *hate* guns and will never listen to reason on them.

GOAL did a GREAT job last year, saving us from disaster and turning it around to mostly help our side.

However, if you recall it was stated from "up on high" that the legislature has no stomach for any FURTHER gun legislation . . . either pro or anti! I can tell you from recent discussions that this is still true and thus there is little chance that anything will get passed into law this session.

Rob is right on two counts:

- Tie up resources at the State House on OUR proposals, rather than only the anti-side.
- It is GOAL's job to do something legislatively and thus if they filed no bills, most would complain that they were not doing their job.

So the message is to not get your hopes up on anything happening but still support GOAL for trying.

Meanwhile, support Comm2A for their "in the legal trenches" work to make positive change.

Contrary to popular NES belief, the size of the ACTIVE anti-2a movement is relatively small. Most of Mass is uninterested, uninformed non versus anti.

A well informed group of pro 2a activists can make a difference

^This. That's precisely the group of people we should be informing. Otherwise we simply let the anti clowns take over the show completely.

My wife and three ladies from her book club, plus one mother of kids from school, and maybe a couple ladies from work are waiting to sign up for Women On Target. Need to turn those numbers in our favor.
