Well, sure they *could* be used as weapons.
HAVE any crossbows been used to commit crimes?
What can't be used as a weapon? Even pillows are used to smother people....
Give them time.
It's probably just down the list from pointed sticks.

Yes of course they're legal. AFAIK, they're unregulated, except you can't hunt with one unless you have a disability and special permit.

DEADLY assault rifle-style crossbows
Why haven't they banned forks and hammers yet?
IIRC.... YES.... Right here in Massachusetts. Years and years ago, before they even called it Road Rage, a guy killed another driver with a crossbow on the side of the road during a traffic dispute.Well, sure they *could* be used as weapons.

Monty Python is / was way ahead of you.Are forks not restricted already? And they already steal people's screwdrivers, I can only assume hammers are not far down the list.
Come on now, some people are allergic to nuts. You could choke on them and if throw hard enough, might cause a slight red mark. Ban nuts, it's for the chicken. Or the Queen, or something.England is nuts. They have banned all teh things and now look at the place. London recently surpassed Chicongo in terms of total violent crime rates. Go figure...
