Actually the CMP has been speeding up. Check the forums. It looks like 90 days. My vote is for the m1 before the price increase goes in for next year.

If it has to be a choice I would go with the 1911. But I think you should get both straight away.

You may want to consider another gun in a caliber you already shoot. Other than the two 12 guages, you are all over the map.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I don't think the man has $30,000+ to piss away on a rare, select-fire assault rifle from the 50's.

Instead I'd recommend an AK variant, like a WASR or something.

you actually need a 22 pistol for cheaper practice (not as cheap as it used to be, however!)
I have a Ruger 22 mk III
their single actions are nice, and I believe the sr-22 is good
