Pieter Vorstedt: I was just checking to see if I was standing on plastic.

And he's back. Clearly this turkey hasn't seen Lethal Weapon 2.

This guy likes to go after the field mice that hang out under the bird feeder. I like the mid-stalk pose.

These are from last year but are the reason anyone in the family who goes into the woods here is issued a gun. WGI_5332.jpg WGI_5322.jpg WGI_5328.jpg There are pups this year and when they make a kill, they raise a real commotion out in the woods. Yes, they are skidish and rarely ever seen during the day but there can always be the rabid one that's not thinking correctly.

Not a trail camera shot, figured it belonged here anyway. Mom is just inside the treeline - looking forward to seeing them in the fall. The doe crossed first, and I almost didn't notice the fawn in the ditch until it started to cross. I'm always impressed how well their camo works.

Apologies for the over-caffeinated shakiness.

These two were in my yard today, near one had antlers in velvet, maybe 4 inch total with forks on top. None on the far one, took the pics then got on the binos.

DIY Trail cam mount system.

not sure how the cam bush cammo will work. I think I will order them though to conceal the cams better...

http://cambushcamo.com/products/cambush

so I took a coffee run this morning and picked up most of the stuff to make the fence post cams....That way I can easily move them around the yard or keep them close to the house. It would be better if I could weld the eye bolt to the fence post because you have to really crank the heck out of it because the cam is top heavy. I suppose I could turn it upside down and then just flip the photos after but not sure how that would work on video....

Anyway, this is one of my cams without the paint...

The cost to buy the materials without the paint is $12.08 and with tax $12.84. That was for 2. If you only need one then cut that cost in half. Most mounts for these I have seen advertise is in the $25.00 range and they are not portable. As the guy in the video said you can easily move these from location to location with minimal effort. And the camera is set at 3' high if you use the second hole on the post. That's not too bad.
