I also imagine how this could lead to:
Negligent discharge causing fatal or permanent injury (another reason why I don't like buyback programs. If people are afraid of old guns and want them disposed of, having them handle them, and potentially transport them improperly while loaded, is potentially a disaster.)
Criminal charges or permanent/fatal action against the child/adults by authorities in an overreaction scenario.
A child in a bad neighborhood being robbed of the firearm by thugs on their way to or IN school.
Crooked teacher (there are many) taking advantage of a turned in firearm for personal gain.
Mortal harm if the lawful owner goes to use the stored firearm in a life or death situation only to find it missing.
The only thing a child should do is notify the authorities of an illegal gun in their household if their parents/siblings/mom's shithead boyfriend/dad's crackwhore girlfriend are worthless criminal thugs ruining their life. But even then I don't expect much to be done to help since I've watched DCF ignore abuse, neglect, drugs, prostitution, & open gang affiliation within households and foster homes.

Yeah, so they want firearm theft, someone under the age of legal gun ownership(a lot of Libs want the age of gun ownership higher than it is to begin with), then to bring it on school grounds, a "gun free zone"

Yep. If one of my kids had ever taken one of my guns to give to anyone I'd be locked up for causing severe bodily injury.
OTOH, I taught school for many years and none of my students ever gave me a gun. That makes me sad. I had to buy my own.

Seriously. If my kid ever did that I would put him up on craigs list... In the barter section in trade for another gun to replace the one he stole.
Years ago an idiot friend of mine who had daddy issues stole his father's G19. He took it out of the bedroom closet and brought it to UMD with him. He had it in the dorm for the entire school year. His father never noticed it was missing. Eventually he realized he wasn't going to get the "Oh shit where did my gun go" reaction he wanted from his father and put it back.

QFTMFT She moves to a country where she can defend herself from gang-rape and a ritual that involves being burned to death, and then craps on the tool that would make that defense possible. I don't think there are words in English that adequately describe how stupid she is.
