After the shooting, Sheriff Shannon Dicus said that a person believed to be Savannah had gotten out of the passenger side of the vehicle wearing tactical gear and that evidence suggested she was a “participant in shooting at our deputies.”
However, newly released video from the incident doesn't show the teen in tactical gear, and it reveals she was obeying deputies’ instructions to approach them.

The vast majority of cops don't itch to commit murder just like the vast majority of legal gun owners don't either. There are good, professional cops, bad cops, evil cops, and dumbass cops like in this situation. As an example of an evil one that got away with it, in that Daniel Shaver shooting [execution], the cop, 26 at the time, got a get out of jail free card and is now retired early cause of emotional trauma and collecting a pension. The system absolutely rewards this kind of bullshit behavior with zero accountability after they pull the trigger.
Police are part of the government, what do you expect? The truth?

Such a sad situation. I can only empathize here as the stress and fear that child was facing must have been immense. And while following orders from those who are meant to protect and serve during her escape, she in turn has her life snuffed out rather than preserved.

Guy holds knife to woman, one cop gets himself in a good position to engage bad guy where the hostage isn't in the way and does so, the rest of the cops who have no good shot, mag dump into the hostage killing her.

There should be consequences for all police who didn't blow the whistle and were complacent with the lies.
Additionally, maximum penalties for the officer who shot the innocent hostage. And maximum penalties for Sheriff Shannon Dicus who is a disgusting Liar.
Clearly shouldn't be in law enforcement. What else has this dirt bag Lied about?
They should be always working on building trust with the community.
