Per the infos I have received from a fellow collector:
- Serial range A001A - B0700A made before the French capitulation; adopted and initial production in late 1936/early 1937,
- Serial range B0701A - D4500A made during the German occupation from Oct 15, 1940 through April 28, 1944.

What's the prefix of yours ? I can hardly see it.

My mistake, I was thinking Lugers!

Here's something I found on Jan C Still's Luger forum that I found helpful in figuring out the correct serial # to write on the FA10 and C&R log when I got my Luger.

When I aquired it I was all set to write "u" as the prefix. Good thing I did a little research and found out its actually a "v".

Dredging up another old but neat thread:

Very nice.
Is that a GDR "Grenztruppen" Uniform with the Luger ?

I've picked up the 3 (modern) Mauser pistols posted in the Novemver acquisitions thread today.
Well, talking to a collector is somehow dangerous: Another M1914 and a M1934 had to go with me, too.....
He also had a very nice P.08 byf 42. Last year of manufacture and complete with spare mag, tool and
holster, all in almost new condition. Too bad, he didn't want to part with this rig!

Good eye as usual! It is a GDR Grenztruppen uniform that I picked up while living in Germany. I thought it would be an okay background since the P08 was an East German refinished piece.

In my next life, I'm coming back as your heir :)

Very nice !
Out of curiosity, out of which alpha-block is the byf 41 ?

S block. people who see it are surprised as they dont see many that high up on the alpha block.

it does have a little speckling on muzzle, and on grip strap. Not totally new, but def an eye catcher at the range when they go out for the once anual excersize of 2 mags each.
