S&W "Restricted" parts

CS at Smith is a crap shoot. Sometimes they'll ship parts, sometimes they won't. There are a few "armorer only" parts, but some of the CS reps seem to have their own list. I recently bought a Firing Pin Retainer for a 3953 DAO. No problem at all. Others have tried and been told no dice.

Glock dominates the market because their guns are cheap to produce. Just like Happy Meal toys.

Not quite. Glock dominates the market because their guns are well designed with ease of manufacturing in mind.
1) Which makes them cheap to produce like happy meal toys.
2) Which means minimal skill is needed to repair them since no fitting is necessary.
3) Which means there is sufficient profit margin to support excellent quality control and customer service.
4) Which means that quality is consistent without a log of manual, expensive quality checks. The quality is built into the manufacturing process.
5) ***And most importantly ***which makes it easy for them to produce an exceedingly reliable product.

Also, they are easy to tune to shoot fast. A fluff and buff, a 4# striker spring, and a Glock factory 4.5 Lb connector is all you need to win matches.
