What is the best type of sling and mounting hardware for a 10/22 with a synthetic stock?

Dunno on the hardware on synthetic, but the garand style web sling is the way to go. Like this: http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/showproduct?saleitemid=174603
Also available in green, but it's backordered at midway.

On a wood stock, I prefer this set: http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/showproduct?saleitemid=190783 as the wood screws are much easier than machine screws with nuts. Just drill a pilot hole and screw it in.

THat's what I used. They even make a set for the 10/22 with a provision to mount the swivel to the band. Just make sure you get 1 1/4" swivels if you're getting the military style sling.

If you want any kind of accuracy, stay away from the band mounted swivel. Stick to the stock mounts.

Slings!

Hi Guys,

Pack, thanks for the mention!

I make many rifle slings, my main product is the 3 point Ching Sling which adds support to the rifle while slung (and allows you to sling up rather quickly). I offer a Chestnut and a Black and am in final testing of a new Walnut leather which looks great and holds up well.

See my website, PM or email me.

Andy

PS: If funds are tight, ask me about my "2nds", blemished slings with slight imperfections that I discount heavily.

FYI: I'll be in Pelham next weekend for the Summit, with TONS of leather!
