RIP Vermont: update the restrictions passed the House

Lady Radtekk and I have been planning a move in Summer 2019 for a while. While Vermont didn't make the list for climate reasons (she HATES snow) it's looking like the 2a "thing" is removing it anyway. We will absolutely NOT move somewhere that Con-Carry isn't the law. After the post Stoneham-Douglas outcry, we may not make it another 16 months...

Wow.... How did they miss Constitutional Carry in that list?

Probably because of pragmatism. VT doesn't have a permit system, so basically they would piss off everyone who carries a gun in VT all at once, not exactly a good idea if you want to get a bill
passed. I'm going to guess this whole thing is just the product of some extremist moonbat faction, more grandstanding than anything else.

I'm not so sure about the love for NC. NC requires a permit to purchase any handgun, including private sales. It's a "must inform" state when carrying concealed. Local governments can restrict open carry. Worst of all is GATTOP (Going Armed To The Terror Of the Public), which isn't even a statute -- it's based on common law, but you can be convicted for openly carrying in public.

So as a NH resident, this means I can't drive across the border while carrying my Glock with a >10 round mag?

As some have stated, this doesn't come from native Vermonters, it comes from affluent liberal transplants. rich people from NY an NJ move to Vermont because its quaint and pretty then they try to change it. I grew up there and lived most of my life there, perhaps they should make some sort of law against assault gentrification.

Typical - more extra crap in shall issue states because the perception is the little people will be armed.

LOL WRT NC I always thought it was leftovers from the era where they didn't want/like brown people carrying guns.....

No state is safe from anti-gun legislation anymore. Everyone needs to understand that. It will NEVER be over because the Marxists will never give up. Likewise WE can never give up. Repeat, repeat, repeat the simple truth that guns are used to preserve AT LEAST 15x the number of lives and livelihoods as are lost as a result of "gun violence" every year. Use the enemy's own TTPs - Tactics, Techniques and Procedures for you civilian types - against them at every opportunity regardless of the political subdivision in which you live. Seize and control the narrative. Remember that THE TRUTH IS ON OUR SIDE.

A very wise person once told me that the truth can walk around naked, but a lie has to be constantly covered up. Our elected officials know this. We just need to re-introduce to them the fear of lying to us!

I always wondered when the blue cities would turn the rest of the state. I think the gun owners have always been outnumbered just no one was motivated to do anything yet.

Yeah. LOL. Or not. I've known plenty of north-of-nowhere VT and NH people that are far more liberal than you and I. It's easy to blame the transplants. But this was bound to happen at some point. VT's been user-liberal for a long long time. Eventually, all of their policies align.

Hmmmm well I guess VT is now off my list. What a disgrace hope and I say hope the logical prevail in VT but............. AZ looking better everyday.

Why not hole-in-the-ground Assbackastan? Because eventually you/we are going to run out of fall-back positions INSIDE the US. Maybe stay and fight? Nah.

There ARE no free states, just states that are less not-free.

Deserved to be said a second time.

This fight is in EVERY state. Im sure some lower-cased 3-letter poster will come and tell us that VT sucks and MA sucks and everywhere else sucks but where he is because it's aw'suuummmmm. The battle is everywhere. Falling back is admitting defeat.

VT. is a FUDD state this will not have a problem passing. It doesn't infringe on FUDD stuff. VT. if full of transplants and liberals, and socialists/communists. The city of Burlington has already passed gun restriction laws. It is only a matter of time that VT will fall.

Keep telling yourselves that stuff to justify staying in MA, instead of just admitting you want to stay (for some other reason) or you're too lazy to move. At least I will admit the latter- and I'll also admit its more or less an excuse. The whole downtrodden MA gun owner thing of "well, every other place is turning to shit, so what difference does it make? We should stay and fight in a state thats FUBAR" trope is getting a little bit old, and f***ing pointless... I agree that we should be fighting everywhere. I still have friends that have moved out of this shithole that still donate to GOAL, Comm2a, and other state orgs, because its important- but at the same time they're not under the illusion that anything will radically ever change in MA, either... but the rights of thousands, are still worth attempting to protect, at least.

Also its cute that you guys think that a stupid garbage bill escaping committee is some kind of a smoke test that some state is losing or about to be conquered- it's not- and in doing so, you're sucking for the antis rhetoric in the process. That's exactly what they want everyone to think- that their cause is bigger or more powerful than it actually is. News flash: It's not, no matter how much bald lesbian and david hogg-goebbels run around trying to make everyone think that it is.... lol. For the love of god, stop buying into their bullshit. Different states have different on-the-ground realities for gun politics, and 9 out of 10 times most of the ma**h***s that think they understand NH, VT, or ME gun politics, they're usually wrong, because they're basing their knowledge off their warped, f***ed up MA political worldview (you know, the one where multiple speakers of the house are indicted by the feds, that kind of worldview) This state's government processes, (much like the other hardcore commie states, CA, CT, NJ, NY, IL, MD, etc. ) are so completely and utterly f***ed up compared to most of the rest of the country, that you can't really use those experiences as a point of comparison. Strike up a conversation with a non-shitty legislator from northern new england, you might actually learn something. It's an entirely different planet from this cesspool. Take off the shit-colored glasses and look at how things are done in other places, instead of trying to assume that every state has a sewer-legislature like MA does.

hey man, at least in commie state of MA 18yo can buy a rifle, lol, ... unlike Florida, Florida Carl! A Republican gubbernor signed that shit into law. Keep blaming ma**h***s.

I moved to VT almost 30 years ago, been a resident of that state for a while, had family and friends in both Burlington and across the state. Do you know what it reminds me of? ... NH.

"Republican" doesn't really mean much at this stage, I mean come on- we see that here ourselves with faker, et al. The only thing I'm blaming ma**h***s for is some gun owners here are clueless about how things
work elsewhere. Usually its more destructive than that though, thankfully even most around here don't think that something like forcing an LTC or FID is "reasonable".

Florida is also its own weird brand of f***ed up, too.

Yeah, but either are nothing like MA. Even with the liberals in both.

-Mike

I get what everyone saying about people not leaving MA because more north will/or will soon be in the same boat.

Ive got cooler shit than most people in VT, NH or anywhere.

The one thing i think i understand more than most is regardless of where you live, regardless of how law abiding you are.

Your just a serf in the eyes of your overloads.i dont even own a healey ban AR, but we are all felons in waiting.

MA taught me this from a young age.

Florida is also its own weird brand of f***ed up, too.

I remember two decades ago, Florida and their dumb strip club laws (like NH, lol), went to rent full auto guns, got lots of pity being from a commie state. FL actually has some of the most relaxed laws on the books, more relaxed than ME, NH, VT and a whole lot of other states. Not just guns, other things too. I don't know what happened, but obviously this commie disease is spreading.

You guys would shit your pants, but something like 30 years ago Burlington was far more pigheaded libertarian than most NH I've been to. Burlington, Carl! I think that a lot of this went down hill when a lot of places got infusion of cash somewhere, the whole waterfront got transformed, expensive condos, rundown shit started to disappear. $$$ started flowing ...
