So funny you said that. The first time I really noticed how long it took I was shooting 200yds with a .357.
If you do it with a .38 you've got enough time to sit down, take your hearing protection off, and light a smoke before the ping.

I'm sure Ish will be along shortly to share his infinite wisdom on the subject of riflery.
So for my whole involvement in shooting sports, I've been a handgun shooter. Now I'm an HSC member, and have these 100 and 300 yard ranges I'm unable to use, so, I'm looking at rifles.
Rifle shooting: is it fun? Expensive compared to pistols? Ammo seems to be much higher cost. Where does one go to learn rifle shooting properly? What would one look for in a first rifle? What if I find rim-fire rifles as boring as I did as a cub scout (what if I hate the 10/22)? Is reloading required for any reasonable roundcount?
Assume I'm not totally ignorant, but have never shot a centerfire rifle.
Get thee to an Appleseed and learn which slings are the best to use as a shooting support and how to use them.
I want to get a sling for my AR and don't know what the best option is. I have an A2 buttstock and a quadrail forend. Single point, 2 point or 3 point? Not going to be carrying the gun around just want the support for shooting.
I do want to get to an Appleseed also but if I could pick up a sling for a christmas gift for me in the meantime I would.
Thanks
