The following info was forwarded to me by a friend who has had a number of 1911s built for him and he also loves modifying the ones he has.

Jerry Kuhnhausen (available from Brownells, www.brownells.com) These are shop manuals:

- "The Colt .45 Automatic - Vol. I", Brownells S/N 924-200-045 (p.105 in catalog) - $27.95

- "The US M1911/M1911A1 Pistols - Vol. II", Brownells S/N 924-800-245 (p.105 in catalog) - $29.95

Patrick Sweeney (available from Amazon or Brownells)
"The Gun Digest of the 1911", Brownells S/N 491-000-008 (p.230 in catalog) - $27.95 ($18.64 for LE or with C&R FFL)

Stephen A. Camp (available from www.hipowersandhandguns.com) "The shooters Guide to the 1911 pattern Pistol" shows 2 versions of this book (small and large for $17.95 and $24.95 respectively).

Thread on 1911A1 Manuals has been started. I highly recommend using the proper Technical Manuals when building your 1911A1. Though it won't cover fitting a slide to a frame, it covers everything else. Besides, the price is right, FREE!

If you simply ask the questions here in the forum, there is a better chance of getting a response to your questions.

Yup, definitely ask the questions here, or do a search, especially look into the 1911A1 Build thread. If the information is something that is of a sensitive (legal) nature, anything I send I'll PM you or e-mail you instead of posting a response.

Do we get a discount on manuals with our C&R?

From some places manuals are discounted. However check Amazon.com before assuming that a C&R discount is the best you can do. It will vary by the book.

Just found my wilson book its title is"Combat Customizing the 1911 auto" by Bill Wilson..there is no ISBN# so I beleive it has to be had directly from them.Got this copy in a local shop.
