Thread on 1911A1 Manuals has been started. I highly recommend using the proper Technical Manuals when building your 1911A1. Though it won't cover fitting a slide to a frame, it covers everything else. Besides, the price is right, FREE!

Do we get a discount on manuals with our C&R?

From some places manuals are discounted. However check Amazon.com before assuming that a C&R discount is the best you can do. It will vary by the book.

Just found my wilson book its title is"Combat Customizing the 1911 auto" by Bill Wilson..there is no ISBN# so I beleive it has to be had directly from them.Got this copy in a local shop.

Found this link over at M1911.org. Haven't spent much time on their forums, but lot of good info here. The Brownell's 6-part series is very good, though it makes it seem as though you can't build a 1911 without investing several hundred dollars in tools and jigs.
