Question about my new 1911

So, the guy that I talked to at four seasons suggested that I put a few hundred rounds through it before striping it down and cleaning it. Its pretty tight right now, so maybe getting some rounds through it might loosen it up a bit? Any thoughts on this?

Well I'd field strip it, give a little cleaning/oil and go at it. Why do you want it to loosen up?

It not a bad idea to stirp the gun and clean it before you start shooting.
