How would one distinguish between Gen 2 and Gen 3 mags? My Glock Gen 2 came with U notch mags and I have seen U notch 33 rnd mags but not sure Glock can even say what Gen a mag is. They could guess with some accuracy but nothing 100% (this is regarding square notch mags with out the dimples down low).
I know you didn't ask, but save your money. Buy two pre ban 17 round mags and put +2 base plates on them. 33 round mags suck to load, are not 99.999 percent reliable (fail to feed). And that is from experience. The aftermarket mags are even worse And to answer your question,you need to be sure they are Pre AWB manufacturing date
