post trump, covid vax family relations: conservatives vs liberals

funny to see how such accounts re-emerge from the stasis when elections come closer. amazing how it all works... gotta respect the effort, to see how the enemy operates.
You're under the impression that I've been here before. I think you can see what day I joined, what day I signed up as a paying member.

Hold up. 7 years? So you were anti-vax before it was trendy????

Just some perspective. . . . your WHOLE family????? Do you think you might have been a contributing factor. What's the line? If you meet an a-hole in the morning, it's just an a-hole. If you meet them all day, you just might be the a-hole. No judgement. Opportunity for self-reflection. I have some pretty liberal relatives. I get along with all of them just fine despite both sides knowing how the other votes.
Not sure if serious.

Nearly all of these family disownments/fights are all initiated by moonbats.

One day I cracked a joke about NPR
left of this country had benefited from multiple decades of ignorant tolerance - as silent majority simply discarded the factual level of danger those rabid socialists represent, but, with times changing, with the core of the democratic party and majority of liberals siding with hamas, with DSA creating riots and protests, and pro-palestinian scum chanting everywhere while parents are forced to pay close to $100k annual tuitions - the backlash will come, and will be severe.

Calls OP an a-hole and says “no judgy”. Really? I get along with the most vapid moonbats in the family but I won’t pat myself on the back while casting aspersions at the same time.

it is them; they care about who does what. rabid liberalism, mostly all of them work as teachers in the public school system, said enough

That can be hard. We had these two families in the neighborhood. I enjoyed spending time with both of them. But if they got together, all they talked about was the elementary school their kids went to. (It was the local elementary school - not some special place). ?????? I can imagine it might be unbearable if they are always talking shop. After about a year of it, every time I saw these two families together, I'd just go somewhere else - even if it meant going back inside my house. LOL

Sure that's fair.

So I guess I will spell it out then.

Do you or do you not agree with the actions of OPs family?
Disowning him like they apparently did? No. Of course we're only seeing OP's side of the story, so who knows what actually went down. In my case it was a gradual process, a slow change in attitude, disagreements that made no sense. Until the day I guess he'd "had enough" and asked to be unfriended, which I obliged.

Yep. I lost one of my best friends over left vs. right politics. We both started out conservative, but he turned rabid lefty as he aged. It was the toxic influence of his highly liberal wife & in-laws, his lefty town and a job that depended entirely on lefty government laws & spending... a killer combo that left him a pink panty-wearing lib. One day I cracked a joke about NPR and that was the end of our nearly life-long friendship. Bizarre, but true. :(
They have to or everything comes crashing down.

Supporting dementia Joe because you dont like Trump is like eating shit because you don't like broccoli.

Like gun control, Trump is a perfect IQ test. Prefer someone that you may not like or prefer a lying, corrupt, racist pedophile dementia patient?

If you pick the latter, you have the IQ of a pile of shit.

I severely doubt it. Most of these trust fund babies at these universities think they know everything there is to know, and yet don't know that they wouldn't actually last 5 minutes in Gaza. Their parents are just as ignorant as they are. After all they're paying for them to be there in the first place. That in itself tells a story. The happenings at these "universities" is nothing new. The parents aren't sending them there out of ignorance of the indoctrination that the schools will force upon them. They're sending them there because of it. They want that s*** shoved down their throat. They need that s*** show down their throat. That's the commie way.

It's still just plain sad. :( To have watched him change over the years was even sadder. But the influence of his lefty family and his lefty-dependent job were just too much. I thought that underneath it all he could still be himself and be an honest, rational person. There were even signs that seemed hopeful. But in the end he drunk the Kool-Aid and went full NPR retard lefty. Given the many lefty pressures on his very being, it appears it was easier for him to capitulate rather than fight it. 🤔

the baby boomers were notorious for this because they can't help themselves when it comes to making their politics and opinions publicly known. This applies to both parties however I have seen it far more coming from republicans when spending time on facebook or other social media.

At this point of our destruction, after watching everything that’s happened over the last several years, having plenty of time to process it all with an educated mind and not just emotional, unrational hatred for anything American, if you still support any of these lunatics around the world who literally want us dead or enslaved, you are the enemy now and there’s no room in my life for you. I’ll always be polite, but I’ll probably be thinking of different ways to kill you while we talk.

This thinking may have been drastic for me years ago, not anymore.

“There are but two parties now, Patriots and traitors.”

I respect someone's opinion/belief even when they disagree with me if they present it in a calm well-thought out manner. I may not agree with their position, but I can respect it as long as they grant me the same courtesy. The lunacy I've seen over the past 20-25 years is just disgusting to me.

Sadly, I have an aunt on the wife's side who is driven by no reason at all, believes The View is the place to get all the breaking news, and has no problem at all with woke politics and unfettered illegal immigration. You can't be in favor of something, without opposing something else....very black and white...all or nothing thought patterns.

The problem is, she's just not that bright. And it's painfully obvious when you talk to her. The problem I have with her is she cannot be at any gathering without injecting some foul comment about "Trump being an a-hole, or Republicans being evil"

My first encounter with her I responded to her vile comments saying "Not everyone hates Trump". She recoiled ( head whipped around slingshot) and said "You mean to tell me you think he's a good president?" <- Black and White thought process. To which I responded "I didn't saying anything about him being any kind of a president, only that I didn't have the time or energy to bother hating him like you seem to...and at this point the media seems to be targeting like nothing I've ever seen...I find it disgusting"

The good news is she's almost completely deaf so when she does inject comments like that I can openly say "Kids don't let this happen to you...anyone who allows any politician this much power in their day-to-say thoughts has Waaaaayyyy too much time on their hands". Then I ask about her dog to change the subject. But it got to the point where I found excuses to not attend a couple of family events I couldn't stand listening to her. Now I try to make it more enjoyable by making sport of it and take bets how long she'd go from mentioning one of the 4-5 sore points she always seems to come back to.
