So my friend was to sell off some guns to buy a preban AR and he trying to trade in my glock 22 gen 3. We went to cabelas firearm counter and talked to some of the gun sales staff there who told me it's actually illegal for me to own it unless I am a police officer. The firearms outfitter manager said he couldn't take it in and I'd get in trouble if I got pulled over and they saw I had it. They kept asking me how I got it and if I was a cop. (IM NOT A COP) I just a ton pre ban mags for it too, I'm like $1500 into the gun and 5 pre ban mags. What am I supposed to do? Do I surrender it to my FFL or police? Thanks guys.
It's not mine, it's my friendsill take it off your ha...... oh wait its a .40 never mind

Ok, how am I supposed to transfer it to you though? Are you an LEO?
I'm gonna have to make sure he's a cop though. Is the badge proof enough or should we do it at a police station?efa10
I tried to do that at the dealer but he said he can't transfer it to anyone, you guys aren't understanding that it's illegal in MAefa10
STAHP.I'm gonna have to make sure he's a cop though. Is the badge proof enough or should we do it at a police station?
Your LTC instructor failed you.I tried to do that at the dealer but he said he can't transfer it to anyone, you guys aren't understanding that it's illegal in MA
Can you show me the law I can't find itSTAHP.
No such thing.
If they have a LTC , they can own a glock in MA. The dealer can't transfer it but you can as one of your 4 personal transfers.
the ag list is firearms that can't be transferred by an FFLCan you show me the law I can't find it
There won't be such a law. That's not how laws work. Can you show me the law I can't find it
And I should believe trained gun outfitters over some people online who called me a troll? This is why this site has such a bad reputation around the stateThe guys at Cabela’s are minimum wage workers dude. Take for what it’s worth.
You should do it *inside* the police station...ask the duty officer to help you unload it first ;-)I'm gonna have to make sure he's a cop though. Is the badge proof enough or should we do it at a police station?
Your guy at cabelas is an idiot.I don't even want the gun anymore Its too much of a grey area, my gun store Cabela's where they know me, I'm a regular, told me the opposite from some guys on the web. I don't know
Great - big sigh of relief. But if they sold it why won't they take it back now?Your guy at cabelas is an idiot.
The law is clear. Dealers in MA must not sell handguns that aren't on the EOPSS roster. Glocks are on this list. Moreover, the office of the AG has certain consumer protection powers where they declare certain firearms unfit. They consider Glocks unfit.
Cabelas got in trouble with the AG years ago for selling Glocks.
Private individuals can basically own anything that's not a so-called "assault weapon." Glocks aren't so-called "assault weapons." Private individuals make transfers through the online portal (eFA-10)
Because they can't sell it. They couldn't sell it. They got in huge trouble when they unknowingly did sell it.Great - big sigh of relief. But if they sold it why won't they take it back now?
ThanksHe's misinformed. The law doesnt affect possession by someone, it deals with transfers by an FFL. Youre good. Find an FFL that understands the law
