Pics of ATF Gun Room.

At least they get the white glove treatment. there is more than one room. look at pic 47 it shows another room through the glass window.

EDIT: Actually i could be wrong. after looking at more pics (#120 etc) it looks like that window looks through a 2nd window to a spot that is in the same room. i have no idea of course if the whole building is full in which case i would still be right.....lol did i confuse anyone yet :)

Could you imagine how much value there is in that building!?!?!?! Man oh man what I would give to raid that building.....

Almost looks like a shotgun dressed up for some sort of sci fi flick...

Yeah with two magazine tubes, interesting to say the least. But I don't think it's any type of Hollywood dress up.

I was surprised to see a Liberator pistol.

Didn't think that would be a big crimeworthy gun here in the US.

Wonder where they got all those guns ...

I'd drool over the pictures but that's the sad part. They took 'em away, and no one's getting them back.

What is #66?

I have no idea, it looks like it's either useless or Hollywood to me.

But since it was evil enough to be taken away, I'd like two of them in my house. [smile]

I call that place the "ATF Gun Mausoleum".

Granted, some of the guns are probably from bad people, etc, but I'd also bet a lot of them are surrendered or stolen property that "didn't have papers" on it. I have no doubt a lot of those guns are war bringbacks and the like that just never got registered properly, etc, and eventually BATFE got to steal them under color of law.

I guess better off there than melted down, but still sad regardless. Those guns will never see private hands, ever, short of a revolution.

What a freaking waste!! There's the money to pay for health care, the stimulus packages, the war, children, whatever the heck the government wanted to use the money for - just put that stuff on auction! Especially at todays super inflated rates for class 3 firearms (thank you G.H.W. Bush). Who actually thinks that a gun has a soul? Even Darth Vader was able to turn from the dark side, I'm sure that if you gave these guns the chance, they could turn from their nefarious origins. Can you imagine the outcry if they had warehouses full of cars that were used in crimes and were just sitting there in storage?

If this museum is for research by the ATF (ie - try to have one of everything so they can identify something) I can maybe see it, but that goes out the window with 2 (that I could see) Liberators. Yeah, the gun that takes longer to load than to manufacture is the drive by weapon of choice of today's gangbangers, because it isn't a gun, it's a flashlight "See, officer, it's from the GM Guidelamp Co."

I remember a few decades ago seeing a pump shotgun that was in a normal, not bullpup configuration that had dual magazine tubes. Apparently you could switch between them, so you could load one with slug the other with buckshot or what ever you wanted. I think it was a Franchi, but it was a long time ago.

When I clicked on the link, it downloaded a file to my temp folder, called hebnaq.exe. Which then tried to gain access to the internet. MacAfee caught it and I blocked it. Could not find any info on the web about it.

I wonder what that's about? I didn't notice anything unusual on my end.

Here's the description from the website in case anyone is hesitant to click on the link I posted...

Type: pump-action ("forward-back" handguard movement instead of classic "back-forward", moving barrel)
Gauge: 12 ( 2 3/4" - 70 mm chamber)
Length: 690 mm
Barrel length: 570 mm.
Weight: 3.9 kg empty
Feed: dual over-the-barrel tube magazine, 6 + 6 rounds capacity

The Neostead shotgun had been designed by two South African engineers, Tony Neophytou and Wilmore Stead, in the early 1990s. They originally patented the pump-action shotgun with forward-sliding barrel in 1991 and then modified the design for dual feed tube magazine by the 1993 (according to their second patent application). The working pre-production prototypes appeared in the late 1990s, and production began in 2001. At the present time Neostead is in production and is marketed worldwide by the South African company Truvelo Armory. It represents a very interesting and promising design of a combat shotgun, but it's still to be seen if the Neostead will be adopted and used by any major police or military force.

The Neostead is a manually operated, pump action shotgun with some rare (if not unique) characteristics. First of all, Neostead is built using fixed breech face and movable barrel. Assuming that the barrel is loaded with empty case, to reload the gun one must pull the slide forward, and then - backward. This will cause the barrel to go forward, leaving the spent case held against the breech face by the extractor. When barrel will clear the spent case, it will be ejected down through the opening in the gun shell. When slide is pulled all the way forward, the fresh cartridge is released and pushed back out of the magazine above the barrel, and then lowered by the feed ramp until it is aligned with the barrel and put against the breech face simultaneously. When the slide is pulled backward, it will take the barrel back, so the barrel will enclose the cartridge and finally lock itself to the fixed breech face. Now gun can be fired again by pressing the trigger. The only one other mass produced shotgun with forward-moving barrel and a fixed breech face is the Russian RMB-93 shotgun. The second feature of the Neostead is its dual feed system. It consists of two tubular magazines, located side by side above the barrel. Cartridges are loaded into the magazines and fed from the rear. Magazines are coupled and hinged to the gun frame at the front. To load or unload the gun, magazines must be tipped up at the rear, exposing its rear openings. At the rear openings of the magazines there is a magazine selector which can be manually set to enable the feeding from one or another magazine, or from both, alternately. This dual, selective magazine system results not only in increased magazine capacity, but also offers greater tactical flexibility: for example, one magazine could be loaded with full power buckshot and the other with less lethal rubber slugs for police work. Selection of the type of the ammunition used is a matter of a second. Third feature of the Neostead is its bullpup layout, resulting in relatively long barrel and compact overall size. The shell of the Neostead is made from high strength polymer. Safety switch is located within the triggerguard, ahead of the trigger. Sights are built into the integral carrying handle.
