I saw this in the Surplusrifle Forum and had to bring it over. It is from the 1967 American Rifleman Magazine.

Heh, Swiss "sporter carbines".[laugh] I used to have an add saved for Alpine Sporters. They were 96/11 rifles scoped and sporterized by the importer. I think they were still in 7.5x55 though. They were big back in the 70s when the trend of "sporterizing" military surplus rifles was becoming popular.
The real rarity in that add is the Enfield trainer. Most of the others can still be found today.

Now the question is: what is the biggest bargain on that page (when comparing to today's prices)?

My vote goes to the Swedish M41. That's a $1200-$1500 rifle today.

Agreed. The M1 carbine prices are pretty good too.

Even 15 years ago, pre-AWB/import bans, prices looked much better.
