Official 1911 Pic Thread...

I've been told by various forums that it is in original unmodified WW1 trim, save a G proofed Colt WWII M1911A1 replacement barrel. Also that the slide is a little later production than the frame, but that was normal. The only serial number on these is the one on the frame.

Very nice old 1911. Great find!

This is another one of mine. It's an Austin Behlert built Colt pin gun, it shoots like a laser beam, ridiculously accurate.

Here's the 1911 my father configured for competition shooting back in the 90's... It's mine now. [rockon]

Pretty sure it was a WWII production model (would have to double check on that) when he got it. The compensator is on the barrel (not the slide) and it's one sweet shooter. Also have some of the really long magazines for it (11 round I think, will have to check). Need to give it a good cleaning and then take it out and send some downrange through it. [smile]

My great grandfather's 1911 All matching. All original except for the grips. That is the way I received it and really don't feel the need to find original grips. 1913 date serial number.

Treasure!!

ETA: I do trust it's not loaded, given that it's cocked and unlocked with a mag inserted and the handle of a knife pressing on the trigger! [wink]

Just picked this up Saturday and stripped it down dehorned it and coated it with Tungsten Cerakote. The original plan was sniper grey but my old bottle was showing it's age and didn't coat as smoothly as I like.

Ive been wanting a full length dust cover 1911 for a while now. I really like the detail on the rear sight.

I lnever removed the front sight base just the insert so I figured I'd do the base the same color.

Nice...is it a Springfield?

It's a Rock Island Armory. I removed the Billboard logo......only took about an hour :(

My next range trip will have this and my full rail TRP and will see how they shoot.
