Now that's a deer!

Most whitetails in Maine reach their peak frame size by five years and maximum weight can be from five to ten or eleven years old. Beyond that age the old brutes can last a few more years, but get a little gaunt and gray.

The web antlers are a sure sign of excellent lineage and good high calcium feed. That is a buck that comes along once in a lifetime for most hunters!

I missed mine in 1980 just outside the Bangor City limits. Broken scope mount is what I like to blame it on. It had nothing to do with a my teenage nerves. [wink]
