I had a day off today and one of the things I did was a trip to the Easter Security Safe in Mendon. I am looking for a safe for my house and since everyone here raves about ESS, I decided to have a look.
Well I wish I could say that my first visit there was a positive experience. Maybe it was the timing but the guy that I spoke with didn't seem to have all the much time to speak with me. Him and his pal were in the middle of unloading safes from a trailer when I came in. Because of that I had to wait close to 30 minutes before showed up on the sales floor. Once the guy came out from the back room, he didn't seem all that enthused to be speaking with me. Perhaps it was because I only have a $1000 budget and cannot get one of their "super duper" safes that cost $3000.
Since I have to move the safe myself, the only safe I was really interested in was the Dakota Interlock-XP modular safe ($899). This is the safe that comes in pieces so that it can be easily transported by one or two people. The safe itself was a disappointment but that's a different matter.
Anyway, I still need a safe but at this point I am hesitant to go back to ESS. I still need to get something I can move by myself or with one person (none of my "friends" are interested in helping me move an 800lb safe) so it has to be light or in pieces.
Any suggestions?
