So the Senate starts this bill knowing full well that it will never make it through the House, so they can say that they worked on it, but it was the House that stopped it. This Bill and us are being used as political pawns.

I was going to say that I feel like this is just pandering for votes, but there may be something under the covers, some kind of maneuvering going on. This could be a tit-or-tat type of action, democrats push some stupid law that has zero chance of ever seeing the light of day, so republicans do something similar. In the end, all that ever happens is time is wasted and our society goes ever deeper in debt while idiots preen on camera for votes and to score cheap points.
