It's looking more likely that the Newtown shooter will achieve the infamy, celebrity and impact he so desperately sought. It is obvious even to a high school drop-out like myself that an insignificant
deranged speck like Adam Lanza can alter the course of history simply by murdering enough children in a few moments time.
His actions are on the lips of every citizen. Presidents appear to weep. important issues being discussed in the news are swept from the table to make room for the nonstop speculation, grisly details and "expert guests" regarding the latest tragedy.
The heritage and traditions, even the Civil Rights of an entire nation of people are called into review and the eradication of those rights is given serious consideration by a people supposedly jealous of their Liberty.

It is becoming clear that mass death can influence the actions of the Federal government in ways that even We The People can not.

The president has refused to address the people about what transpired in Benghazi.
The president has refused to address the people about Fast & Furious.
The president has refused to address the people even regarding a budget.

Yet the actions of a 20 year old deranged gunman from connecticut can set the entire continent on it's ear, and bring all the politicians forth to the cameras demanding answers and action.

Those crying loudest for "something to be done" are routinely the same ones that would see all US citizens rendered as disarmed and defenseless as the children in Sandy Hook Elementary.

Those politicians who are publicly pulling their hair out in grief in front of the cameras are the very same who could not give a rat's ass if the 20 children killed had been instead aborted in the womb.

The politicians who are so shocked at the actions of a madman are the very same that would like the guns YOU protect YOUR families with locked away forever, while they support allowing the insane and deranged like Adam Lanza to roam the streets freely because "they have rights".

The administrators of Gun Free Zone schools somehow believe that locking the shooter into the building with your children, while your children are PREVENTED from escape is morally superior than having an armed adult in the school for the prevention of massacres like Sandy Hook. While the children await other men with guns to show up and dispatch the bad guy with the gun, they and their disarmed teachers can cower in terror and wonder if they'll be counted among the dead.

The great lesson though, is saved for other would-be infamy hungry murderers: If you want to stop the world, and bring it's leaders out to discuss your actions, if you want millions of citizens lives to potentially be altered by the resonance of your actions, if your voice must be heard above all others, you know what to do. The President, The Media, and the rudder of US History await your next move.

Well stated. Tip of the hat to you..

Yup. You want these school shootings to stop? Start doing what the TV networks do when some idiot runs out on the field during a baseball...pan the camera away and ignore the idiot. Media sentsationalism is definately contributing to these mass shootings. That can't be denied, but will be ignored by the media (of course) and by the President and other leading dems.

End gun-free zones and allow those that are properly permitted to carry concealed at schools and military installations and college campuses accross the country.

Until any of this starts happening, these mass shootings will continue.

+1 Rep point!

No easy answer, but one danger of the hysteria is that persons in need of help will avoid it due to the risk of having their gun rights terminated.

Foxnews reporter just described the AR used by Lanza as the MOST POWERFUL RIFLE IN EXISTENCE.

I think my head just exploded.

it shoots bullets larger than your average car and the bullets can penetrate entire planets.

worst of all is that it can be bought over the internet and delivered to your door without a background check, while you're mentally unstable AND smoking reefer.

[laugh2]Yep, and don't forget about that "gunshow loophole"![wink]

If this president and this country truly beleived what they say then they would secure the schools with todays technology as many business have done. The would put in secure windows, alarms, card access turn styles and doors and camera's.

Yet they would rather spend their money on a camera at a stop sign or highway where these thinks are not likely to occur. A new humvee for the police department or advanced weapons that would rarely would arrive in time to save these dead children.

The politician's spouting off on doing more about this tragedy could make sure people actually go to jail when they commit crimes instead of making things that are actually illegal sound as though they should not be called illegal.

They could evaluate and do an honest analysis of the effects of what three generations of drugging young people and missed diagnosis has meant and the impact it's had on their development.

They could use their assets to look at why the vast majority of these mass killings are occuring with people that are between 16 and 26 and many are veiwed as highly intelligent.

They could look at why these kids think it's okay to make stupid threats on face book or beat up on innocents for the sake of making a You Tube video.

They could look at the programs they have developed and marketed for years to make people more dependant of government aid and less responsible as citizens and to their families.

They could spend time teaching ethics and morality along with responsibility while they are teachingt these kids about acceptance and bullies.

In conclusion, these people, politicians and the media are not about solving the real issues of security for young people. They may be sad but they have used this as an opportunity to push an agenda and to gain more of the almighty dollar through veiwership. If they really wanted to solve this issue, they would spend money on securing schools before they spend it on securing law enforcement as they have been for years. Their leadership at all levels in responding to this situation once again is misguided and absolutely only for the ignorent that would swallow their drivel once again.
