I recently picked up a ruger american bolt action chambered in .308. What a beauty.

Can anyone help me explain the legality of attaching a muzzle brake on this rifle? Does is have to be pinned if allowed?

Any reputable suggestions also welcome, if it is indeed OK. Everything I searched was in regards to AR platform.

Go Guns USA.
Very highly rated comps and great pricing. I have one on my 700 and it’s awesome. Also one on my 300 Blackout. I’ve shot some on 5.56 ARs and they were also very effective.

Great news. Pinned on a semi auto I assume. Thanks guys.
Generally, yes, but depends on the feature count in the assault weapons ban. Remove the pistol grip on an AR, and then you can run a threaded barrel for instance.

Regardless, doesn't apply to your situation and the AWB doesn't apply to bolt action rifles.
