Moving to NH

I am not going to lie. I very much am looking forward to buying anything I want, ordering online anything I want, storing my guns any way I want. The list goes on & on. Best part, is my wife doesn't care about us moving. She is more excited than me. Not for the gun stuff, but just in general.

Stop [sad2]

There's an official form somewhere on the MA EOPS website. There are at least two, perhaps three copies that are sent out: One to EOPS in Chelsea, another to the ORIGINAL town CLEO that issued you your license, and your CURRENT town CLEO (if different than the ORIGINAL town.)

No, NH doesn't care. Seriously. Just bring up your guns, ammo, buy some post-ban mags on move day. Nobody cares up here. I know, I was sort of shocked too, but it's the reality on the ground.
I sent the forms to the FRB and my former town, I did not send one to my town in NH, they don't care. I did it in case I decide to get an NR-LTC in the future, or G-d forbid, I have to move back to that socialist hellhole.

By statue the only CCW nono is a courthouse. There are some gray areas though. The Verizon for example: its owned by The City of Manchester but leased to a outfit out of NJ and they dont allow CCW. I dont agree so that must be what ankle holsters are for. I moved up here 12yrs ago and have never looked back we love it here and you will too. NH is a great place to live, work and most importantly raise a family. We have two boys 5 and 7 and the small hobby farm life is a lot of fun for them.

Come on up! You will get the same feeling I did I was geographically misplaced!

Another gray area are the universities. The argument can be made that UNH, Keene, and Plymouth are state schools and therefore fall under the legislature's authority, meaning they cannot dictate a no firearms policy since the law only lists courts.

As always private property rights apply as well but I can't recall the last time I saw a business posted with a no firearms sign (there is no binding signage in NH, that said, if it is not posted in an obvious manner, you can more easily argue your way out of a trespassing charge).

New Hampshire does not have binding signage.

The Verizon is a gray area only in the inverse, as a state-owned facility they should not be able to prohibit carry, but as it's leased to a private entity they try to apply the "trespass standard" (see linked thread, below).

It's polite to respect property rights, but despite some misleading information to the contrary, New Hampshire does not have binding signage; as drgrant says, NH is a "trespass standard" state rather than a "binding signage" state.

Don't forget, your vote will actually come closer to counting/meaning something. In MA it's pretty much lost in the noise.

Obviously just because the state doesn't statutorily mandate "safe storage" it behooves everyone to make responsible storage decisions in case there are little ones in your house.

NH does have some child access protection stuff on the books for guns. In other words, if your kid gets their hands on a gun and actually does something stupid with it, you can be prosecuted. It doesn't mandate storage but it will hold someone responsible if they should have stored something better under a given set of circumstances.
