Moonbats in sheeps clothing...Know any people like this??

I refuse to believe that most people in this state are rabid liberals, i think that most are more moderate, and most feel the pocketbook pinch just like you or I.

I think you are, unfortunately, way off here.. I think that the vast majority, especially inside of 128 and then a bit less inside of 495 ARE foaming at the mouth rabid moonbats.

I disagree.

There are the poor ones that feel entitled - saw those in my 5 years in Worcester. The rich ones that don't feel the pinch - see 'em in Sherborn and Wellsley every time I drive through. The in betweens that feel the pinch, don't think it's so bad, and go back to munching Beacon Hill's special brand of brie.

I live in what's apparently one of the most "red" (politically, not firearms-unfriendly) towns in the state. That doesn't keep them from [strike]taxing[/strike] licensing my dog. The runoff from town land washes my driveway into the road, and I'm required to take a permit, have some sort of environmental impact engineering survey done, and enlist the help of a certified engineer in order to fix the drainage to prevent it from washing into the [strike]farm drainage pond[/strike] protected waterway that the town DPW plows it all into when it reaches 3" on the road. It hasn't kept them from designating my house "historic" - I'm the last house in the district, and the house was built in 1998 - and limiting the materials I can build with, the colors I can use, and all but banning any form of solar panels I might put on the roof.

Some fault me because I still see government as the fairest, if not most efficient way, to provide public utilities. That said, the government intrusion that's become so ridiculous here is just an extension of what your neighbors want, and that's control over practically every aspect of your life.

There's a standing joking conversational response when I'm home in NY (1st or 2nd "least free" state as per the last survey, BTW): "That'd be a felony in Massachusetts." It'd be funny, if it weren't true.

Let's see if I have this right.

1) Gun Collector
2) Hates Paying Taxes
3) Hates Unions
4) Consistently votes for Liberal Democrats

Yup, Mass is loaded with these types.
They're called douchebags.
[frown]

To the socialists manipulating the libtards they are just more "useful idiots"

Just wondering.. If there was a candidate that raised the concerns that you just did, would there not be a LOT of people who would relate? I would like to think so.....

Not sure, but I think this was in response to my post.

No, not too many people would relate.

It's just an unfortunate fact that the town land drains onto my driveway. Nobody wants to pay tax money to fix a problem a private party has as a result of a public entity. If I construct my driveway drainage poorly, I (a private entity) damage public property...so they're going to license me for it.

Even if it means that when I don't fix it, the DPW damages it themselves.

Dog tax? Who would fund animal control if we didn't pay the dog tax?

Free to modify my own home? Who would make sure that it was in keeping with the period construction in the historic district?

No, people are willing to give up too much control of their own lives in order to gain a large measure of control over their neighbors' lives.

This is incorrect. it should read

Massachusetts: The land where the republicans are democrats and the democrats are.......[insert whatever you think appropriate].

OK.

Talking to boss about politics: not usually a career-enhancing opportunity.

I suggested to the people at work that they sexually harass each other rather than discuss politics. Why? Eventually, people get tired of talking about sex....[wink]

At least with sexual harrassment there is a good chance that somebody is going to walk away happy. In the best circumstances it turns into something and both parties walk away with a happy ending.

Talking about politics usually just pisses everybody off.

Oh boy ...

I think that I have had a change of heart, guys. I actually agree with most of you on this. to
the op.. i was just like your boss, up until this past election.
I voted for obama, and now
am seeing that promises do not make paychecks, so to speak. the man is useless. I also feel that
if the
republican candidates in this state would be a little more direct in their attacks against democrats, and call them out
DIRECTLY for the money they have wasted
,
the votes
they have squandered, and the freedoms they have taken away
, then people may just see past a little of the tv
rhetoric. I
refuse to believe that most people in this state are rabid liberals
, i think that most are more moderate, and most
feel the pocketbook pinch just like you or I. but, we
need the
non-democrat candidates to at least have a debate!!! or to make themselves known,
a little!!!
If I was brown,
[URL="http://www.northeastshooters.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=68851&highlight=liberal+bias+media"]how could I expect
someone to vote for me if I never even attempted to make myself known
[/URL]???
.

Wait..there is a difference between Republicans and Democrats??

My 1st poliitical memory in CT was the battle for the State Income tax (1991 i believe)..I remember nightly news story's of legislators who supported the tax homes being shot up and molotov cocktails being thrown at their homes as well...I remember they passed it and were so afraid to go outside because of the mob of angry people..and they voted to repeal it within minutes after passing it..the vote failed by 1 i think....no other state has enacted an Income tax since..Govt spending has gone up 4 times in CT since..we have a "Republican" Governor who thinks we are her ATM machine and hates freedom...Both party's have failed CT and failed this nation

I agree. There isn't much of a difference. We need more representation by folks like the libertarians or independents. This system run primarily by two parties is just a huge failure in my opinion. I think often times it allows legislation to slip through without being thoroughly thought through. Then when it fails they begin having "blame-storming" sessions.

I fully agree and I hear people who are running for US Congress/Senate debate Health Care, Education, Abortion, Guns, Gay Marriage and other issues that the Federal Govt has NO Constitutional Authority to even be involved in...Someone needs to start asking..not what is your position on an issue..but where in the Constitution does it give the power to regulate that area??

We need more political parties in office state and nation wide. At this point two party pretty much assures that both candidates will be "moderate" and "main stream", using the MSM terms of approval, and on the whole this generally means liberal.

I WANT Grid lock both on the state and national level!!! Passing laws was never supposed to be easy.

You'll never fix Mass thru the ballot box. It will be the 1st State to take the step into actual Socialist dictatorship. The vast majority accept it and like it.
The Dem primary IS the election because as good as Scott Brown is he has zero chance. Elections in Mass are every bit as free and honest as those in Putin's Russia and Chavez's Venezuala.

I made the original post on this topic and yes, only a matter of days after I post it, here goes the gas tax bullsh*t again....I now understand these people wont "get it"....and they never will "get it"...I am so F'in pissed...

Seriously? You admit that the vast majority accept and like it, then compare MA's elections to those in Russia and Venezuela? [hmmm]
