I know this has been alluded to here, but no one ever posted the exact law. There is a Mass. General Law concerning Eddie Eagle Gun Safety Week. MGL Part I, Title II, Chapter 6, Section 15ZZZ states:
The governor shall annually issue a proclamation setting apart the first week of October as Eddie Eagle Gun Safety Week and recommending that said week be observed in an appropriate manner by the people.
I think we need to pursue why this is not happening each year in our schools. If more kids were educated by this program, maybe there wouldn't be the stigma about guns. Armed with this knowledge, I am going to start visiting schools about teaching this program. Yeah, I know it will probably go no where, but who knows, at least I (we) can try.
