MA Gun Grab 2024: Senate bill S.2572

Or they will have a huge press conference to gloat, brag, and suck up the political pats on the back from their base of sheep.
That will likely happen at signature.
If there are provisions to avoid takings arguments then they want us in the dark until the last moment to ensure we don't create a run on soon to be banned guns

Which is why you need to buy any off roster handgun or semi automatic long gun/receiver now. Don’t wait. Do it now.

But if I can't currently afford all of the 200+ different types of guns I had planned to buy over the course of a lifetime of shooting and collecting how do I decide which ones to get now? It's probably cheaper to just move out of state.
Prioritize until that day comes. All I can tell you man.

This is why I feel so sorry for younger folks in MA who aren't in a position to pull up stakes and leave. It's also why I feel lucky that I am old and don't have many years left to live. I only have to worry about what I'll need over my few remaining good years. That makes the coming anti-Constitutional insanity somewhat easier to deal with.

On the other hand, I doubt I will live long enough to see SCOTUS reverse the anti-Constitutional insanity here in MA... and that makes me very sad. :(

Democrats vote to make gun reform debate private after senator describes personal threats

"I was personally threatened!"

Later: "Oh, I guess a staffer called from an inside line. Sorry. My bad. Sorry for your shitty law."

I hate how this is forcing me to get the guns I will eventually want before I learning how to shoot properly on smaller cals. Instead of starting off with a P322 and a 10/22 it’s like. Okay grab a CZ or Walther PDP and an AR before they are almost unattainable.

Pick the ones you want the most and make them happen, if there is a frame or fcu option go that route before then, I’m focusing on things that I would not buy second hand, things that aren’t readily available and go from there, I have 3 musts on my list, then my list of 4-6 and so on, and some inexpensive ones that I want to have (or my son to inherit) etc and just chip away at the list

When is this getting signed into law?

It will probably be passed at the end of their session this summer, rushed through and hidden among a thousand other things, and then we'll just be felons in waiting. And anyone that thinks the courts will save us are dreaming, even if it gets to SCOTUS Maura will ignore the rulings like Hawaii.

I have kids.

So I view this as a struggle that'll go beyond my lifetime. That's a big part of why I'm eager to fight it.

You can learn to shoot properly on an AR. Ask the military. I’m not against rimfire training. But it’s not necessary at all.

Sad, but that’s how I see it as well.

Marbury vs Madison, a law repugnant to the constitution is no law.
buy what you want, f*** this state.

No kids here but I still am against and fight every new infringement because they are wrong. A right that requires a permission slip from the state and ends at arbitrary lines on a map isn’t a right at all.

Same.
Investment for the future.
Both of you should instruct your kids to get the Hell out of this one-party socialist dictatorship-like state and never look back.

I sure wish my parents had done that for me all those many years ago. :(

How "convenient" .
I assume there are police reports to back that up.

I’m raising my kids to be their own people and make their own choices. I’m not raising them to be “instructed” by me or anyone else. My role is to protect all our rights so that they can be free to make those choices.

You and I are on VERY different pages here.

While I’m similar, I am trying to instill values that may make them question settling in Massachusetts.
