M/N front sight info???

Are there differant front sights for the Mosin/Nagant 91/30 rifles? as far as
hight??? i was shooting a 91/30 W/Lamminated stock yesterday and with
the rear sight at its lowest setting it was 7 inches high @ 50 Yds!! i have
a 91/30 in a reguler stock that shoots P.O.A.@ 50 yds also my Finn,s are
the same. so is there differant hight front sights avalible???

First search came up with some info and steps from a surplusrifle.com article.

This looks a little complicated (for me at least). I'll send a few e mails to folks I know who deal in Mosin parts to see if they have a source for higher front sight posts that can maybe be filed down if needed.

Some people on the Parallax forum have found simple methods that sound like they'll work.

The second solution worked for me - a piece of black electrical wire insulation. Pulled out the wire, trimmed to size, and pushed down over the sight post. I then shaved a little off with a small file after firing a few rounds and - PRESTO - rounds were hitting at point of aim.

Simple, quick, cheap - my kind of fix.

WoW thanks again guys another wealth of information and a great Forum
that i bookmarked the Rifle is a tight shooter and a real beauty so as my
buddy always says " She,s A Keepa " and it sound like an easy fix!!
