Remington Arms 1961, i believe cross in circle denotes hotter machine gun rounds, but I could be wrong.......

The cross in circle denotes a NATO spec round !!

I second those opinions, Rem arms 1961, the cross in circle is Nato acceptance. I see it regularly on Nato spec 9mm and 5.56 cases. Crimped primer on those typically.
