I was going to buy a Kel Tek P3AT from a friend, I am MA resident LTC - NR, is this legal?

I was going to buy a Kel Tek P3AT from a 'buddy' who said he bought it in FL. He is a MA resident who has a house in FL. Is this legal for me to buy this from him? I am MA resident LTC - NR

Yes, if you FA-10ed it and he has a Resident LTC as well. If he doesn't you're more or less up the creek unless you use an FFL, and it is going to be difficult, maybe impossible to find one who would transfer a P3AT due to the compliance BS.

He does have a LTC.

Legally he would have had to have moved to MA with it, having owned it while living in FL.

He brings it up here with him, and sells it to you as a MA resident with a valid LTC.

Not for nothing but there is a lot of room for interpreting this story in an unfavorable way to all involved, I'd keep it quiet if I were you. These walls have ears

If he has a resident LTC and you have a resident LTC, buy it. Dont forget to FA10
