THANK NRA AND GOP!

When is this country going to realize the violence brought on by the NRA by supporting all kinds of guns under the disguise of "right to bear arms"? If that were so, then why we do have an army, police and law enforcement guys?

All the killings MUST be blamed on the NRA and the Republican Party, which shamelessly supports it.

Here is the article: http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20060820/pl_nm/crime_usa_dc

Just thought that would get everyone riled up. This guy obviously has no clue about the facts. Someone (ok i did reply to him stating this) should tell him that it is not the police or law enforcement individuals duty to protect the individual on a regular basis. and the Army?, when was the last time the Army did anything that last time someone got mugged at gun point.

I pray everyday that loser retards like that become victims of crime, preferrably of a violent nature. Then and only then will they realize the stupidity of their thinking.

When you need one, a gun in your hand is worth more than a whole police department on the other end of a phone.

Edited for spelling because my keyboard sucks.

From the article;

"In Miami, while overall crime is down, the use of semi-automatic weapons is growing."

Maybe new laws should be passed increasing the penalties for killing someone with something other than a revolver or a bolt-action rifle.

Has anyone ever objectively taken a look at whether the increase in violent crime in previously "quiet" suburbs parallels the penetration and increasing popularity/influence of gangsta rap in these suburbs?

It's kind of ironic how the liberals in Hollywood gleefully cash their checks as they portray scenes of wanton gun violence in their "entertainment" products, then with a straight face deny that they could possibly be a part of the problem while they hide behind hollow claims that the right wing Nazis are trying to censor their "art".

Just maybe the issue is less about guns and specific acts of violence as it is about the effect pop culture in America has had on the debasement and devaluing of human life.

Apparently not, as the real cause doesn't fit neatly into a 30 second sound byte, nor does it have the fear inspiring visual impact of a picture of a "killer" gun on the front page of a newspaper.

Some folks have commented on yesterday's news about Menino's run in with a gun toting thug. How would the story have been perceived had the Herald run a front page picture of the perp's rap sheet rather than a picture of a gun? It puts an entirely different perspective on the story.
