Hello all,

New to the forum. I just got myself a Saiga 7.62x39 at a show yesterday, and I'm looking to do a few things to it. Notably, a pistol grip, rails, and a few other things. In doing my research into some parts, I ran across something speaking to the effect that I can make my MA Legal AK into an illegal one by doing too many modifications. Did I read that right? If I did, that sucks big time. Can somebody either point me to someplace that explains this in further detail, or tell me? I havent been able to find something that goes into much detail on this. If I put a collapsible stock onto my Saiga, would that render it illegal?

Thanks

collapsible stock is a no no in MA it has to be pinned or fixed

but I've been wrong a lot so wait for someone else to confirm this

Yes, collapsible stock would be a no-no since it comes with a pistol grip and that's two evil features right there. Additionally, you have to be concerned with 922 compliance.

You can have a pistol grip OR a collapsible stock, but NOT both, as you would be creating an "assault weapon" in violation of the Mass AWB.

Also, as vellnueve stated, you need to be mindful of Federal 922 compliance.
