Jews Finally Waking UP?

Exceptions are not the rule. This is like discounting someone's argument because of a misspelled word, Go away and stop looking for reasons to get offended on an internet forum.
What argument did he offer?
Also... exceptions my ass! Go talk to Jews in Texas, Georgia, or Arizona: they vote overwhelmingly Republican! Southerners remember who KKK lynched and they weren't all black! Do names like Sam Bierfield, Martin Weinberger, and Leo Frank ring a bell?

Look, the Jewish themselves have polled at around 70% Liberal Democrat and anti-gun. That's a fact and it is what it is. Who the hell knows why but I would welcome it very much if they were to correct that and join us on the "right" side.
I think there are three major reasons for this:

1) Throughout history, in EVERY country, Jews have tried to become part of the nation. If anyone asked me who I am, I will say "I'm American" before I say "I'm Jewish". Many jews, who are pro-gun, are more likely to think of themselves as American. Again, I might be projecting my feeling and what I see in my community
2) Republicans have historically done poorly in urban areas. Jews and African-Americans tend to live in urban environments.
3) James Baker, a Republican powerhouse, has had a hot mic moment when he uttered the words that alienated an entire generation of American Jews: "F them!, They won't vote for us anyway". Until that moment, republicans were invited and spoke at AIPAC as much as Democrats did.

Leo Frank? As in the Jewish pedophile child rapist who molested/raped a 13 y.o. Georgia girl then murdered her (convicted and sentenced) ....who then got lynched? I have zero affiliation with the KKK and am an

Why in the world are you bringing up that guy as an example for your cause?
Because his death was not because he committed a crime. Heck, the guy's sentence was commuted! He was lynched because he was a Jew! I'm all for justice but EQUAL justice for all. Son of Sam got what he deserved and was treated equally under the law.

Wait, what? You're using a meme as an argument? I have been to AIPAC gala's several times. AIPAC DOES NOT care about anything else but Israel so your meme is a total ignorant miss.

AIPAC conference is the "canary in the mine" type of event. The event is held in May/June of the election year. Every presidential candidate is invited to speak and is given an opportunity to showcase their international policy chops. EVERY candidate who had given the most honest and inspiring speech has gone on to become the president. Trump's speech in 2016 was inspirational and HRC's was not. We know who won that one. Romney's speech in 2012 sucked as well. I bet if Biden spoke at AIPAC in 2020, he would have had Trump as a president...

So he was lynched for no other reason than that he happened to be Jewish? This should be pretty obvious. Perhaps the later commuting after the conviction based on irrefutable evidence was a bit questionable and based on some slimy lawer tricks/payoffs?

The whole rape, pedophilia and murder thing had nothing to do with it?

IDK why but when Jews seem to get in any trouble or called out for something they always are like "It's cause I am Jewish, right!?!?!?!? They hate us for no other reason other than the fact that we are Jews" but ignore the other glaring reasons and patterns of behavior that result in the sticky situation they can find themselves in.

>Jewish guy rapes, molests and murders 13 year old
>Gets lynched
>"It was solely because he was Jewish"
There were no "lawyer tricks". 20,000 pages of case documents were reviewed and found questionable in many places. the statements of the accomplice, laying full blame on Leo, would not be allowed today. Testimony of a credible witness implicating Jim Conley was not allowed in court. Fact is, the case was a hot mess but that is NOT a reason to take the man and lynch him.

This is somewhat implicit that AIPAC/Jewish lobby/Jewish interests need to be pandered to and pleased in order for one to advance into a high level political position.

Soooo whoever pleases Israel/Jews the most gets the 'Go ahead'?

Sammy, this is sounding like antisemtisim from your part. Please cool it.
It's how your mind interprets it. Yours is lacking...

AIPAC gives a platform and an opportunity for a candidate to speak on an international policy matter. The is no other venue or opportunity to speak about international policy. NONE. The speech is televised for all to see.

If it was the "Czech-American Action Committee" conference, you would have said nothing. Instead, you lead with "Whoever pleases Israel/Jews the most gets the 'Go ahead". Anti-semite much?

My word you are ridiculous. A page from 2013 with 79 likes and zero political influence. And only exists "as a voice in the cool county IL political life" Is this really what we are down to??????? This is basically nonexistent with zero influence.
So you mispoke when you wrote:
Because IT DOESN'T EXIST
I could have picked ANY PAC but you're arguing on existence of a PAC?

Man, this thread and the crazy Dr Kang Lu one is great chat room stuff.

Is this the gun discussion chat room or did I take a wrong turn?

The AIPAC represents the interest of 1.5% of the US population and is one of the most well funded, influential political lobbying groups
Are you saying that AIPAC is for Jews only!? Are you saying that only Jews are interested in the survival of the only true democracy in the Middle East? Are you saying that nobody else is interested in ensuring good relations with the only true partner of the United States in that part of the world? Are you saying that the ONLY Americans who care about these things are the 1.5%?

You're spewing a lie! Take a look at the top 10 PACs in terms of donations: Political Action Committees (PACs)
And tell me which spot AIPAC is in terms of donations?

My rabbi, with 12 kids, carries S&W 38 special and shoots with me regularly. He's voted for Trump and Bush as well.
12 kids??? Did he convert from Catholicism? [smile]

You are either brain-dead or a paid shill. I'm out.

I always figured that conference was to see who will promise the most money to Israel, whoever promises the most, gets their nod of approval.

Was also gonna say in B4 anti-semite and playing victim, but I also see I am late lol

My guy, you know perfectly well that most of us vote blue. In 2020 we voted something like 70% for the demented pedo with a shotgun. Saying that "Jews vote for Democrats" is as accurate as "blacks vote for Democrats" or "evangelicals vote for Republicans" - obviously there are exceptions but by and large those statements are true.

I agree. American Jews do vote majority democrat. They are also an anomaly. Jews in England, for example, vote more conservatively. so do Jews in Australia and Israel. It is worth figuring out what caused it. It could be the fact that 95% of all Jews lived in the five most Democrat metro areas in the US(NY, Philly, LA, Chicago, Boston) and they just absorbed local politics. It could be the effect of the "Survival guilt" experienced en masse.

Still, I contend that the fact the other 30% are not voting Democrat is as important. In other, the statistic shows that ANY claim of the Jewish vote being a voting monolith is indeed false.

The main reason the majority of American Jews vote for Dems is because of the mistaken belief the liberal Dems care more for the poor and destitute and R's are the party of big business and capitalism. Jews value education and success so you would think they would be big supporters of a Capitalist society but for some reason they equate it with greed. I guess they don't pay attention to the anti-Israel faction of the Dem party. What party is trying to revive the Iran Nuke deal, the country that chants ,"Death to the Jews, death to Israel"?

The same can be said about African-Americans so it is NOT part of Jewish-ness as many statements such as this one imply. As a matter of fact, there are MANY parallels between African-American and Jewish communities when it comes to changes in voting patterns. This indicates that neither race nor religion are playing part in how people vote.

As an example, a new Pew poll has shown that Orthodox Jews vote overwhelmingly Republican. As in 75% of Orthodox Jews vote Republican. On top of that, the Orthodox community is also growing more than any other denomination. 17% of Jews under 30 identify as Orthodox while only 3% of Jews over 60 identify as Orthodox.

And Orthodox Jews are a small percentage of American Jews.

Are you trying to imply that Orthodox Jews are a small group and somehow is the only group voting Republican? Other denominations vote Republican too. When I wrote about my Jewish friends all but one voted for Trump: none of them were of the orthodox denomination.

The only group that consistently votes Democrat is the Reform Jews. They only make up 1/3 of all Jewish religious denominations. The rest is 50/50.

Point is, "Jews only vote Democrat" is an assumption not based on fact and is as fraught with anti-semitic connotations just like the statement "Blacks only vote Democrat" fraught with racist connotations. We're all adults(mostly) and can deal with a bit of bigotry here and there but what bothers me is that statements like that discourage those in the corresponding communities from stepping out. There are millions of people who want to follow their political convictions but are afraid to become an outsider in their own community.

I do believe the reason the majority of Jews vote D is because of the 20's/30's and the Great Depression and FDR. Jews were flooding into America during those times from Russia and Eastern Europe and FDR was viewed as the President for the common man and the Republicans were viewed as the party for the rich industrialists who "caused" the Great Depression putting Millions of men out of work and causing the economy/stock market to crash. Democrats and much of American history still cling to the myth FDR's policies turned the economy around and prevented further damage even thou most unbiased historians agree WWII was the event that put America back to work and FDR's Socialist polices PROLONGED the Depression. Just finished reading a Trilogy on the US Navy in the Pacific in WWII and the author, Ian Toll , describes the 1944 Presidential election as bitter with the GOP trying to get MacArthur to run against FDR. Big business and the newspapers HATED FDR. I remember my history teachers in HS in the early 70's gushing over him and brainwashing us on his Presidency.

The entire premise that Jews voted D because FDS was "pro common man" is not correct. Quite the opposite!
Immigration Act of 1924, severely limited immigration from Eastern Europe. The law was introduced by two Republicans: Rep. Albert Johnson and Sen. David Reed. Both were big proponents of prohibiting immigration of "undesirable races". Republican president signed it into law.
The law was designed to prevent Jews, Chinese and Catholics from immigrating to the US. As a result, only about 100,000 Jews immigrated to the US between 1924 and 1952. That's about 3,500 people were allowed to immigrate to the US annually! Just for comparison, the annual quota for England was 39,000,000 and 15,000,000 for Germany.

Ron DeSantis Is Persona Non Grata at a Holocaust Memorial

New York’s Museum of Jewish Heritage bans the Florida governor to promote ‘its message of inclusivity.’

I guess he's not "woke" enough! From today's WSJ.

"A remarkable Jewish renaissance is under way in Florida. Jewish schools and synagogues are rapidly expanding. Jews from the Northeast and Midwest, as well as Latin America and Israel, are migrating to the Sunshine State in significant numbers, making the Jewish communities there lively and varied. Florida’s booming and low-tax economy is no doubt one of the attractions to young Jews seeking to build a prosperous future for themselves and their families. So is Florida’s educational system, which provides tax credits that assist many parents in sending their children to Jewish day schools.

A few years ago, we helped launch the Jewish Leadership Conference, an annual gathering to consider the challenges facing the Jewish people and Israel. It is hosted by Tikvah, a 20-year old Jewish educational and cultural institution whose main activity in America is teaching young Jews about Jewish history and civilization. We thought it would be interesting to invite Gov. Ron DeSantis to discuss how the “Florida model” has contributed to the growth and vitality of Jewish life in his state. The event was to be held at the Museum of Jewish Heritage in New York City. Until, as the saying goes, we got canceled.

Over the years, Tikvah has hosted numerous conferences at the museum, always including prominent Jewish, Israeli and American thinkers and leaders of various political and religious points of view. We were working closely with the museum on the details for the June 12 event—until, out of the blue, we were told by the museum staff that Mr. DeSantis didn’t “align with the museum’s values and its message of inclusivity.” Either we disinvite the governor, they said, or our event was unwelcome.

Throughout the modern age, Jews have suffered the consequences of this kind of intolerance. We see it all the time on college campuses, where anti-Semitism and anti-Zionism have become a tolerated (and even celebrated) form of discrimination. We see it in the boycott, divest and sanctions movement, which advocates treating Israel as a pariah. We see it in the U.N., with its odious anti-Israel Human Rights Council and with Amnesty International’s “apartheid state” calumny.

But we know things are bad when a Jewish institution—in this case, a museum whose purpose is to keep Jewish heritage alive by remembering the Holocaust—turns on its own and tries to make a virtue of its own intolerance.

What drives our elite institutions—museums, universities, large corporations, the media—to shut down speakers and ideas that question progressive orthodoxy? In many cases, the explanation is sheer cowardice. A lot of people dislike Mr. DeSantis, and the museum staff must have asked: What if there are protests? What if our progressive donors complain? In the current environment, protecting free speech requires moral and political courage. Many administrators, corporate CEOs and college presidents have weak spines. Preserving a free society requires at least some ability to respect other viewpoints and other people. The new czars of cancel culture seem to have little such moral imagination or civic tolerance.

The new thought police don’t see themselves as acting solely or primarily out of fear. They believe they are defending the good: inclusion against hate, equality against discrimination, victimized minorities against white privilege. Yet the pseudo-gospel of inclusion breaks down quickly. In the name of inclusivity, a Jewish museum sent us a clear message: Some people are to be excluded. In the name of fighting hate, the museum decided that the millions of Floridians who support Gov. DeSantis—including many Jews—are so hateful that they don’t even merit a voice in the great American conversation. A museum of tolerance has become intolerant.

When pressed for a further explanation of why our event was canceled, the museum’s CEO adopted a common form of doublespeak: We don’t do politics, he told us, whether left or right. Not surprisingly, this was false. In August 2018, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, then a Democratic candidate for Congress, was a featured speaker at an event at the museum, sponsored by the Immigrant Arts Coalition. Her speech was widely covered in the news—both before and after the event—including public criticism of the museum for giving such a vociferous critic of Israel a prominent platform at a Jewish institution. Yet the event went on as planned.

The museum has hosted other politicians, including then-Gov. Andrew Cuomo and then-Mayor Bill de Blasio. In April the museum hosted a conversation with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Linda Thomas-Greenfield, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, who recently described America as a society plagued by white supremacy and lauded America’s re-entry into the anti-Israel Human Rights Commission.

When we launched the Jewish Leadership Conference a few years ago, we gave our inaugural Herzl Prize for Jewish Leadership to the great freedom fighter Natan Sharansky, who endured nearly a decade in a Soviet prison in his fight to rejoin his people in Israel. In his memoir, “Fear No Evil,” he tells how the Soviet thought police suffocated liberty “not by tanks and missiles, or even camps and prisons,” but by turning free citizens into frightened supplicants, afraid to speak their minds.

The preservation of Jewish heritage depends not only on remembering the lost Jews of the past. It depends also on channeling those sacred memories toward a vibrant Jewish future—the kind of Jewish renaissance we are seeing today in Florida.

The Jewish Leadership Conference won’t be canceled, and the governor of the state with America’s third-largest Jewish population will speak. We will hold our event as planned, at a different, secular venue. But it is sad to see that the misguided leadership of a Jewish museum won’t allow alternative ideas a seat at the Jewish table."

Mr. Abrams is chairman and Mr. Cohen is CEO of Tikvah. They are co-chairmen of the Jewish Leadership Conference.

Correct and as you stated the law was introduced by Republicans and passed by a Republican President. Jews perceive the Dems as more compassionate towards the poor and more open to mass immigration, see Bidens Southern border. Those 100,000 Jews married, had lots of kids and brought them up to be good Dems. My GF's niece married a Jewish guy from W.Hartford who's parents, a Dentist and Teacher , grew in Brooklyn and were children of that migration. They're hardcore , lifelong Dems.

This is the sort of shit that is hard to comprehend. Jews that support Democrats that ignore the overt Anti-Semitisim in their Party, that support Democrat scum that support Hamas etc. WTF is wrong with their thought process? The DNC would round them up and put them on trains if they could. Much like Asians that support the very party that sent them to the camps!

More proof that the DNC overloards hate Jews and Israel.
