Olympic shooting is governed by the ISSF / UIT.

The inquiry was 100% IPSC. USPSA was not involved.

Long story, but the IPSC president's goal is to be a "shooting dignitary", and Olympic recognition would provide that opportunity.

The USPSA leadership also makes a habit of not pissing on electric fences and not poking sharp sticks in their eyes.

One of the few good things Mayor Walsh did was his refusal to sign a financial guarantee on the Olympics that "would not cost Boston anything".

This. Viewership is in the terlet. They can't get locations to bid successfully on events. The Olympics' time is nearing the end. WTF cares if they have guns or laser beams or moonbeams at that point?

Very little I enjoy in the Olympics these days, but I do enjoy the short-track skating and bicycle track events.
