For an early birthday present, I went and bought a S&W 1911PD w/ rail today.

After coming home from shooting it, I sat down and bought 10 more mags, 1000 rounds of ammo, and a pair of VZ operator grips.

I'm hooked, this gun is flawless, accurate as hell and comfy.

Who would ever have thought that S&W would be making better 1911s that Colt?

yup...another fan here. My 3 stepsons all love mine...but its mine!!!![rofl]
I just tell them they have to be extra nice to the evil stepmom so they can shoot it[laugh]

I like the black grips...hmmm...maybe I will get some

My Colt series 70 has been my favorite handgun for almost 10 years. That's when Colt had their shit somewhat together. Nowaday? Hit or miss.

I have a SW1911 that's been flawless. Very nice gun. I might be trading towards an AR upper, and I'll probably miss it if/when I do.

Given the way you'd have to CC it, you'd just have to clean it more often.
 
Absolutely beautiful gun.

The only "1911" I currently have is a Dan Wesson Bobtail Commander 10mm. And yes, I love it. At some point I need to pick up a true 1911 to "fill out" the collection.

Having handled a DW Bobtail 10mm Commander, you have the unenviable task of having the bar set very high. That gun is probably one of the best deals going. I don't think I've ever seen a higher quality 1911 for the money offered than on that DW.
