Title says it all. Looking to replace a crappy S&W light for IDPA use. I have smaller hands, so thinner lights are a plus.

Looking to spend on the order of 120$, which seems to be about what a good 'tactical' light costs. Any suggestions?

Based on your "thin & light" I'll suggest a 4 Sevens brand light

I got it at a show for about $50 or something like that - it's small and powerful The switch is protected so no accidental activation - I use it for work doing building inspections. Every time I bring it out the mag light guys always want to know where I got it. They make it in AA battery too

Good luck

You need a Liotec Freedom. Liotec is a dealer here, so look them up. Green members get a good discount.

I own 5 of them - at least 2 for 3 years with no problems. I carry one every day.

Ooh, that's pretty neat. It might even be too small. Any idea if there are competition-style holsters that might fit? It looks like it's slightly smaller width than most.

It will fit most SF type pouches and can be stuffed in a Glock 9mm/40 mag pouch in a pinch. That is what I did at the last classifier. I purchased 7 of them a couple years ago. One for me, one for my wife, one for my best friend and one each for my brothers. Mine is in my pocket at all times and has circled the globe a couple times. GREAT every day light.

Liotec Freedom

We just announced an NES discount from now until the end of the year let me know if you are interested.

Thanks
John

might be worth checking out ebay for this -- i managed to score a NiB SF Scout M600C a few weeks back for just over 200$ shipped. I was worried it was going to be a knockoff but it's legit. Not sure how the seller was able to sell it so cheap ... probably don't want to know.

I have tried different lights over the years. I currently own a stream light stinger, a stream light scorpion, a Surefire 6P, a 6P LED, a 6Z, an E1, E1L, and a L4.

Of them all, I like the L4 the best for any low light stages. LED, compact, pocket clip, holds up to recoil, 120 Lumens, it drops light level rather than just going dead on you.

If I were to get rid of all but one light, I would keep the L4.

Most of my lights were prizes or gifts but I would spend the money to buy a L4

Here is the Sure fire comparison chart http://www.surefire.com/FlashlightSpecChart

Another thing I consider when making a purchase like this is who supports the matches. Surefire is a sponsor at most if not all major IDPA matches and earns your business with good product, good customer support, and excellent support of the sport.

The L4 is a little over your stated budget so next best would be the 6P LED
