I got my permit to hunt on the oxbow and assabet today. Highly dissaponinted to see on Upland Game and not deer. I really don't know much about hunting rabbits. I guess they held a lottery for deer. No luck

Have you ever hunted rabbits before? I have to say, I think that
rabbit hunting is some of the best hunting anywhere. If you are going
without dogs (and most people do) it works much better if you have
a buddy or two stirring up the brush piles and hedgerows.
When the rabbit decides to make a break for it, you try and take
the jinking, bouncing furball with your shotgun and #6 shot.

People often say that you can hunt them alone by slowly stalking with a
scoped .22, but I have never had any success with that.

I figured I would go out and try it. Thanks for the hints. I went out there and tryed to look for some and found a bunch of deer, which only made me more pissed off that I didn't get pulled for the lottery. Oh well, sometimes things happen for a reason.

The .22 works just fine if you catch them in the jeep's headlights at night. Or so I'm told. [roll]
