Healey "closing the loophole" letter to gun dealers

They've already done just that.

"Q: I am a law enforcement officer. Does the notice affect me?

No. The notice does not change the law with respect to ownership of Assault weapons by law enforcement officers. Your existing right to buy and possess Assault weapons remains protected under Massachusetts law."

Well in that case maybe we need to put a delegation of MA gun owners together and go reason with the heads of the major firearms manufacturers.

I would be willing to bet that they are going to lose more business not being able to sell to MA 'citizens' - then they can make up by still being able to sell to police within MA.

They have something to gain by this.

"Creative Feedback From Today"

1. I believe the best we can get out of Baker is a promise that Magot will not hunt us for "the last minute" sales and we should be grateful for that. That is unacceptable.

2. I believe she did surprise everybody except Pocahontas who is behind this plot. Crazy political activism, worshiped by Obama, is her style.

3. We can't be happy with any compromise. We want her to be gone. If this is a test, it has to fail here and now.

4. We have a message down for people like us. But we do not have any message for people who trust government and want government ONLY to be responsible for their security. This is why we need to point out that PEOPLE LIKE US can contribute to so far inadequate response to terrorism. Who stopped the truck in Nice? Not police. 2 brave guys who jumped the driver. Police only then was able to kill the islamist. These events, one by one, need to be taken apart with a focus on delays, inefficient police activity..... Bottom line: Nobody can guarantee that terror attacks will not happen but if our citizens, those who volunteered already, will be trained to help police to eliminate the danger, we have a winning proposition.

5. We are spending a lot of time on technology details which say nothing to people who never fired the gun. These detailed explanations add complexity to the issue. What is complex MUST be handled by certified government specialist not a dude from woods. Our message is this: If government can't stop the terrorism and terrorists keep showing up with advanced weapons we can't be artificially downgraded. We all need to have a same chance. You, Mr. Sheep, may never take it, but let me die for you instead.

6. When we are talking today about having a right to defend ourselves from potentially bad government we may be translated into some kind of vigilantes who are preparing in the woods to overthrow a government. We need to be careful. When terrorist is ready to blow himself / herself up we have a common enemy which needs to be eliminated as soon as possible. This is the focus!

7. We will be pushed into "hobby" category. This is dangerous. I have no idea how to get rid of this label but I can tell you that liberals in Europe used this strategy and at the end some countries in Europe allow only certified and government approved PROFESSIONAL hunters to have joke weapons. I need help on this.

8. After talking to many of you today I understand that many of you have jobs and families to feed. Because of that, you may have good ideas but you would prefer to be anonymous. Those ideas need to be harvested and used. If you do not mind you can send me private email with whatever you may have and I will get it published.

9. This was a last minute event. Understood. We need to upgrade our image. Signs need to be printed, they need to show ORGANIZATION. We do not have to wear uniforms of Hooters outfits but in reality we do have uniforms. Paramilitary looks do not help us. Paramilitary looks scare people, they are our uniforms. Our issue would benefit from us looking like golf buddies who are listening to their representatives unhappy about ONE tyrant in MA.

10. Everybody has skeletons in the closet. You may think that skeletons do not work in MA. All Democrats are power hungry and they love to collect dirt on others. Once we are attacked we need to play defense and point out that at the time when FBI is ignoring warnings from everybody and let terrorist continue on his / her way our AG decides to be busy with law abiding citizens. Similar issues need to be published and discussed on forums.

11. We can't and we should never talk about doing harm to anybody. We may express concerns, we may be unhappy but we can't project any violence. This will work against us. Remember, everything you say will be used against us. Do not give them ammo!

Please, take this as some helpful hints from somebody who is trying to help and not critique. I loved the event today but we need to use our time efficiently and we need to talk to much larger population. We need to win!

but the way section 131m reads is that no one can transfer, sale or offer for sale,
police can only possess .

this AG can't even read her own laws.

Great idea. I was very disappointed by manufacturers. I propose to create a small group who would start negotiations with dealers and manufacturers. We need them on board because right now WE ARE DOING THEIR JOB while they continue kissing butts of THE ONLY ONE WHO IS WRONG. That needs to stop.

I am not sure where this negotiation team should be (GOAL, NRA?) and I do not care where it will land. We need to meet, set up the agenda and start visiting them. If we were able to purchase 2,500 weapons in one day let's what else we can do. No manufacturer should say "No" to us.

Who wants to be on the team?

So school me on police purchases on banned rifles. Are these rifles being purchased for use during the performance of their duties, or they can buy them and take them home and enjoy them anyway they choose?

Yes. They can exercise both options. And eventually they also may use this "nasty weapon" to shoot poor guy in the leg while actually aiming on the patient in his care. What a farce!!!

Sorry guys, Guess I will be taking my MAss compliant rifle to the range tomorrow instead and scream Bang.. Bang.. Bang.. from the firing line, I may even go rogue and hang a Non-Compliant target.

Unfortunately in the last few instances the SC has refused to hear gun legislation.

I would find it appropriate and comical if weapon manufacturers simply refused to sell weapons to Mass. on the case that they would not want to risk last minute flip/flop litigation because of an interpretation.

That might change with a leftist majority SC.

Good evening, I had sent you an email earlier in the week in the hopes you would stand up against the Attorney General's broad overstep of the bounds of power on her office by creating legislation without the help of the State Legislators. I was out there today at the Gun Owners Action League and thousands of other of this state's citizens who are also felons in waiting thanks to the AG's actions. After the rally I know that both the State Senators and State Representatives were busy wrapping up their few days left of this session. 58 of them sent a letter to the AGs office telling her to rescind her position on her new interpretation of the AWB that has been in effect for the last 18 years, and I was extremely disappointed to find your name and signature lacking from the document.
This leads me to believe that you are okay with Maura Healey position on infringing on constitutional rights and how she has used her office to create felons-to-be out of otherwise law abiding citizens.
If this is the case, you are just as responsible for the actions of the AG since you have not stood up against her with your fellow legislators.

I hope you reconsider your actions today, and stand with those who already have before the session ends.
We have long memories.

Cannot overstate the importance of beating Hillary. With 2-3 more progressive judges there will be a national ban.

Really, its just one to replace Alito that will put us over the edge. Roberts has some dirt in his past and, as his Obamacare vote proved, he can be pressured to vote as he's told.

Globe coverage;

Legislators and advocates who took the microphone said Healey had transformed legal gun owners into “felons-in-waiting” overnight. They acknowledged that Healey had promised not to prosecute those who purchased the guns legally prior to her ban, but said they did not trust her word.
“She could change her mind tomorrow,” Gun Owners’ Action League executive director Jim Wallace said.
“We don’t believe that anything in the Constitution is optional,” said Senate minority leader Bruce Tarr, to roars of approval. “Not the First Amendment that allows you to be here, and not the Second Amendment that allows you to defend yourself.”

SC Justices are a bit unpredictable, but give Hillary 2-3 shots and we're screwed. Maybe it's a good thing if it triggers go time. Nobody wants that, but it may be the only way to save this country.

All things become corrupt. Go time is not an option but an inevitability. This is why we have the 2A. I'm sure John Adams would bet his bottom dollar for it to come to pass in LESS than 250 years, but here we are. One of the oldest governments on the planet, decaying and crying while it dies, like a mortally injured horse begging for the final fatal compassionate blow that can only be struck by free men.

Great--if you sent, I think, $50 or more to comm2A they will send you a cool challenge coin.

I wish they wouldn't do that. It means next to nothing to me and I'd rather they used the money to go after the bad laws in this state.

Next thing you know I'll be getting sweepstakes envelopes in the mail.

Made this up quickly to catch the visual attention of some younger Facebook friends. Delores Umbridge from the Harry Potter series in case you don't recognize the tyrant hag on the left. She was ousted, dragged out into a forest and terrorized by some of her "subjects" at the end of the story, as a result of unlawful decrees she made...

Can somebody please demand that Healey disclose when she will prosecute me?

That's the part I would really like to know.

somebody good with the petition sites should set one up calling for the Governor to begin proceedings for the removal of the AG under article 8 for bypassing legislature, taking on their authority, and unjustifiably threatening criminal prosecution where no illegal act has occurred.

ETA: "arbitrarily and capriciously reinterpreting long-standing and existing law at the cost of the legal citizens rights" may fit in there somewhere too - we need something with true legal teeth. - prolly need a citizen/lawyer to make the verbiage properly stick.

Did you hear back from any of them?

I don't want to be a dick about it, but I couldn't agree with you more.

You have no idea how completely bullshit I was when I sent 2AF a donation and they sent me a plaque, a belt buckle, a membership card, a patch, and a sticker.

I send you money because I support you.

Rant aborted...
