Anyone have comments or advice on using GunBroker to buy?
Are the MA state approved gun lists always 'current models', ie if I bid on say an older S&W 29 (or anything else for that matter) am I always legal?

Are any models on the lists, then off and then on again?

Thanks,
Bill

Older models tend NOT to be on the EOPS List.

If a Model xy-3 is on the list this does NOT mean that a Model xy (no suffix) is legal for a dealer to transfer . . . in fact unless he specific model is listed, legally it is s a "no go".

Models will only be removed from the list if something is later found to be non-compliant (very unlikely).

So it's FTF?

So I have to do a face to face with another MA resident?

I knew this was true for guns like a Browning Hi-Power but I didn't think it would also be true for revolvers.

Why not? A revolver is a handgun too! [wink]

MGL set the rules for ALL handguns (revolvers or semi-autos). [frown]

Doesn't the fact that the gun was made in Massachusetts and therefore was in state prior to 98 at some point ,make it legal for a dealer to sell, or does it have to be in-state from day 1?

Never mind...I see the fact that it had to have been "registered" in Ma. before 98[slap]

Talk to the FFL that you are going to use to do the
transfer and see what they say. Regardless of whatever the
actual law is, the guy doing the transfer for you would be the
final arbiter, for all -practical- purpouses. I would not be
surprised if you talked to 5 different FFLs and got like a cumulative total
of at least 3 slightly different answers as to what they would and would
not transfer.
