Gun Confiscation Coming in Virginia

Sounds like a lame speach straight out of Braveheart. NOBODY will remember, outside of the people who were there. Because it was an uneventful event. You accomplished nothing, except showing them that you will disarm and play nice whenever they tell you to. Because that's exactly what happened. They're not impressed, and for good reason. Sorry to burst your freedom fighter bubble here.

The biggest stick in the world isn't helping your case if you don't have the nuts to swing it. Just ask Obama, he had it, and nobody was scared. I know the difference between peaceful and harmless. You're making my point. You're peaceful when you are willing, and have the skill and means, to perpetrate a great deal of violence, but don't do it by choice.
You guys may have the skills, and you may have the means, but you do not have the will. And, sorry again for the bubble bursting, that makes you the picture of harmless, until you prove otherwise.
I don’t know if you’re on point with this.

With 70,000 people there I’d think at least one of them would start bashing someone with a big stick.

I agree about the cages, but there were tens of thousands of other civilians occupying a capitol city, a good portion of them openly armed - that's something that I can't recall ever happening anywhere, ever, in recent history. Can you? I think it's a great precedent.

Full article: Virginia Senate passes ‘red flag’ gun law over fierce opposition

The Virginia Senate has approved legislation that would allow authorities to take guns away from people deemed dangerous to themselves or others, as the state moves closer to joining a growing number of states enacting so-called “red flag” gun laws.

The Democratic-led Senate voted for SB 240 Wednesday despite fierce resistance from Republican lawmakers.

The bill would create a process for attorneys and law enforcement to file emergency orders prohibiting a person from purchasing, possessing or transferring a firearm if they pose “a substantial risk of injury to himself or others.”

Democrats said the bill could help prevent mass shootings and said similar laws have worked well in 17 other states. They added that the bill had been carefully crafted to preserve due process and protect individual rights.

“Shows that they have reduced the deaths in several states, particularly suicides, and also have been used in several situations of threats of mass shootings,” said Sen. George Barker (D-39th).

On the other hand, Republicans raised concerns about the impact of the bill on people’s rights and says it will create dangerous situations for law enforcement officers enforcing it.

“What we’re doing is going to undermine not only the Second Amendment rights but the right to due process of Virginians,” said Sen. Mark Obenshain (R-26th).

Meanwhile, Republican Senator Amanda Chase (R-11th) accused Democrats of disloyalty and said the proposed law would embolden criminals and hurt law-abiding citizens.

“Each legislator that votes in favor of this bill is, in my opinion, a traitor to Virginia, a traitor to the Second Amendment, and traitor to our constitutional freedoms,” said Chase.

Comments that Democrats say was deeply offensive and against the rules of the Senate

She should run for Governor ASAP.

In all honesty, that 50 guy seemed really happy to be there and looked like a really nice guy.
Not everyone can look like Matt Best after makeup. lol. Good for him. Owning a gun shop or being a basement dweller. He was there. I was not.

Edited to add:

Luging that around in full kit. Props.

Apparently they don’t get it. We aren’t going to go along and let the courts sort it as we are trod on anymore. We will not comply. Some may take the arrest, some may hide their stuff but a good percentage will resist. The funny thing is when the shooting starts, plans tend to go out the window and the only thing that is sure to happen is a lot of people will end up dead.

So now you’ve gotten the shooting started and that percentage just got bigger as they just saw what you did. Most won’t wait for a knock on the door, a lot will be X-military that will know about movement and picking engagement sites.

Virginia, don’t be stupid. 2A is quite clear - and we are done compromising.

Those that went there could have just acted like all the brave French people and just dropped their guns and waved white flags! LOL

My grandfather's brother is buried on French soil. If you think all Americans are cowards feel free to go back to France...

How's France's gun control? And why haven't they started shooting yet..I guess they are waiting for you to arrive..

Nobody that I saw brought their children. If you don't recognize what that means, you have missed the point of what happened. You know nothing, because you stayed home when the adults - the americans worthy of bearing arms - decided to risk their lives, and livelyhood to stand up. We are the posterity of the founding fathers. You are something from their posterior.

So what now?

Red Flag Governor Blackface?
Or 25k people with rifles camped out in front of his house, driving in circles around the neighborhood...

Im tempted to say the left has the right idea. Storming into someones office and sitting on the floor and refusing to leave, banging pots and pans, harassing politicians in restaurants, protesting out in front of their homes. Unless life is uncomfortable for them personally, these pols do not give a single f*ck. The catch is the left has the backing of the power structure. They pull this bs and the cops stand around and watch. If they do get arrested they get released the next day or some judge gives them a wink and a nod while slapping their wrist.

Tens of thousands of people showed up, many with rifles, and literally hours later they went right back to passing bs gun laws.

When libs will be loading trains with us Republicans will raise concerns about the impact of the bill on people’s rights and says it will create dangerous situations for law enforcement officers enforcing it.

Dear fellow Republicans, this is exactly why I am not paying a dime to your organization anymore! You have missed the opportunity to stand up for our rights!

Red flag laws are only the first step. The second step is "hacking" of LTC data and publishing it by hateful media. Third step is an opening of the hunting season on those who have LTC but do not like liberal crap, global warming hysteria, plastic bag hysteria, or they are just wearing the red hat. We will be in a mercy of hateful coexist pretenders. This is how they will bakerize many of us!

YOU CAN'T CHANGE THIS PROCESS WHICH WAS ESCALATED BY OBAMBA BY PROTESTING!

At this point we'll be done with peaceful protests and the ante will be upped considerably

Well the folks down there tried to do it the right way.
Never let it be said otherwise.
Wonder how many applications they have in for that 18 man confiscation squad after Monday?
