Hey guys I just handed in my application after waiting a month just for the appointment to do so. The person who processes the applications said she normally tells people to call back in 5-6 months. They do not call when your license comes in. She said the turnaround is more like 2 1/2-3 months so it has picked up a bit.
My advice is to call back in 2 1/2 months after application and call back if you have been waiting for a while. The newton police department has lots of licenses just sitting there at their office since they told everyone to wait 6 months.
This is good news. Is this Massachusetts or our federal system practicing due diligence? Maybe I shouldn't jinx it or maybe the holidays really takes CCW permits off people's minds.
