File this under "No friggin kidding"

And here we have a prime example of a cop "just doing his job" where the kids father pummels this guy and gets arrested.

Same kind of cop is gonna take your guns because he's "just doing his job"

Flame away!

Well no one to press charges for Beatrice assaulting Rodriguez ..... charges dropped.

I don't have kids, So I can only imagine the rage the father must have felt.
And I think the old coot should have been retained 'till court date.

I swear anyone touches my kids [...]

No kidding, I get real defensive when people get near my boy in public.

My son and I were at the playground today and this little girl, must have been about 3 years old, kept trying to come up and hug me. I had to keep backing away with my arms up to get away from her. She was just being sweet, but I ain't touching nobody else's kid on the playground unless it's to keep them from hurting themselves.

Police said they empathized with the boy's father, but would have preferred if Beatrice had detained the suspect until police arrived.

yeah... i'll file that under the "piss off" folder, thank you very much.

sorry men and women in Blue. anyone touches my child inapporiately... and he/she will surely be detained. an uncouncious man cannot flee. I was simply "detaining" him.

+1!!! Sorry Officer.... I must have left his head in the toilet bowl too long while I was detaining him with his head under my boot....guess he drowned.....oh well.....

I pity the fool that touches my kid.

Child molesters are everywhere. My question is what was the father doing while the child was using the Mens room?I never gave anyone a chance to touch my kids because I was right there with them.Let me guess.....cell phone?

Seems like he was paying attention. Presumably one has to be there to see the perve touch the kid and then to take action.

Yep. He was standing right behind him, according to his statement, saw it happen then beat the perv down. Had he not been paying attention, it may have been worse.

Police charged Beatrice with assault. Police said they empathized with the boy's father, but would have preferred if Beatrice had detained the suspect until police arrived.

Yea....well...he did! The suspect was trying to flee, and he had to use force to detain him while placing the suspect under a citizens arrest.
Come on! Work the system! [smile]

That is so sad that one can't be playful with youngsters now-a-days. Totally different from when we grew up. And with reguard to Rodriguez, the MFer is not in country IMNSFHO. [angry]

It seems to me the current Justice (yeah right) system only encourages and emboldens the so-called humans. Its too bad you can't see these animals in a crowd!

Taunton — A default warrant was issued for the arrest of an elderly Rhode Island man today after he failed to show up for his arraignment on charges of groping a young boy in a Raynham supermarket.

“I’m shocked - completely shocked,” Raynham Police Chief Lou Pacheco said of Valerio Rodriguez’ no-show at Taunton District Court today.

Raynham police had charged Rodriguez, 71, of Providence, a Market Basket janitor, with indecently touching a 4-year-old boy in the store’s bathroom on June 1.

Judge Daniel O’Shea added a “do not release” order to the warrant, meaning the defendant cannot be released on bail before appearing before a judge.

The child’s father, Jason R. Beatrice, 31, of Oak Street in Raynham, was charged with assaulting the suspect in connection with the alleged act.

He is due to be arraigned on July 31.

The alleged incident occurred after Beatrice took his son to the bathroom in the rear of the store.

He had just placed the youngster on a bucket so he could reach the urinal when Rodriguez allegedly reached under a nearby stall and ran his hand up the boy’s leg, the police report states.

Beatrice told police he had forced the stall door open and yanked the man out.

A witness said Beatrice began to punch Rodriguez, who suffered a minor cut to his lip and a welt on his forehead.

Through a Spanish interpreter, he admitted he was wrong for touching the boy but said he was “only fooling around,” according to the police report.

Pacheco faced a firestorm of public criticism for summonsing and charging Rodriguez, rather than arresting and charging him, and for charging Beatrice after he rushed in to defend his son.

Pacheco said the parties were summonsed because neither has criminal records nor warrants and Rodriguez posed no apparent threat to the public.

And while the father claims the incident was an outright sexual assault, there was an arguable dispute on the facts, as the elderly man who could only speak through an interpreter, said he was “just joking around,” Pacheco later said in a prepared statement.

“It is unfortunate that there appears to be some type of public assumption that the police stopped a father from protecting his son and let a child molester go, that is absolutely not true,” he said.

Police said Beatrice “could have detained the man and had a witness call the authorities.”

Had he been arrested, Rodriguez would have been arraigned that night and released on bail, Pacheco said.

He said he could request a rendition order from the Bristol County District Attorney’s office to have Rodriguez picked up in Rhode Island and handed over to Massachusetts’ authorities.

On July 7, Jay Rainville, a spokesman for Demoulas, parent company of Market Basket, said Rodriguez had been suspended from his job, pending the investigation and court case.

That was two days after Beatrice distributed fliers around town, warning residents that he had found the suspect still working at the store on July 4, “pushing a mop bucket and smiling at children.”

THIS MAKES ME MORE PISSED

“It is unfortunate that there appears to be some type of public assumption that the police stopped a father from protecting his son and let a child molester go, that is absolutely not true,” he said.

Isnt that exactly what happened?

The guy himself said:
…Rodriguez posed no apparent threat to the public.

Thusly the let him be and free.

Lets not forget the dad here because,
...said the parties were summonsed because neither has criminal records nor warrants

This part kills me though:
Police said Beatrice “could have detained the man and had a witness call the authorities.”

If you remember the original story, the dad did complain and ask for intervention, it was a witness that called 911.

the fact of the matter is, the father can rest well at night knowing he did the right thing and beat the SOBs face in.

I would have had a hard time sleeping at night not pounding his face in if he touched my kids.

The real fact of the matter is that NO father can rest well at night, knowing this guy is out on the loose.

“I’m shocked - completely shocked,” Raynham Police Chief Lou Pacheco said of Valerio Rodriguez’ no-show at Taunton District Court today.
Than you are even stupider than I originally gave you credit for.
Pacheco said the parties were summonsed because neither has criminal records nor warrants and Rodriguez posed no apparent threat to the public.
You mean other than the one that's a border jumper and child molester?
And while the father claims the incident was an outright sexual assault, there was an arguable dispute on the facts, as the elderly man who could only speak through an interpreter, said he was “just joking around,” Pacheco later said in a prepared statement.
So if I grab a woman's posterior who doesn't want me to I can claim it was 'just joking around' and that makes it not a sexual assault?
“It is unfortunate that there appears to be some type of public assumption that the police stopped a father from protecting his son and let a child molester go, that is absolutely not true,” he said.
You call it an assumption I call it an obvious fact.
He said he could request a rendition order from the Bristol County District Attorney’s office to have Rodriguez picked up in Rhode Island and handed over to Massachusetts’ authorities.
Notice he said "could" instead of "will". I guess that means he won't.

Know what the really sad part is?

Whacking that POS pretty much ruined any chance that guy has of ever getting any kind of firearms license. Regardless of whether he would want one or has any other skeletons in his closet, the fact that that one incident could be a permanent disqualifier disgusts me.

Did you notice that he is from Rhode Island but he come come to MA. to do his dirty work! That's because this great State of MA is a lot more lenient with pervs than his home state. Only a guess?
