Massachusetts Former Massachusetts Governor William F. Weld signed a proclamation declaring October 1-7, 1995, as "Eddie Eagle GunSafeWeek." (October 1995)

The week is coming up soon. Perhaps Duval will re-institute the proclamation. Oh wait educating children how to be safe around firearms could lead to kids being scared of blue plastic guns and run up therapy bills in anti comm2A strong holds everywhere

He is required to by law (MGL ch. 6 sec. 15ZZZ), but I guess he's above that.

So this is interesting:

I send a message to the Governor's office through their website asking when and how the Governor will "issue a proclamation setting apart the first week of October as Eddie Eagle Gun Safety Week and recommending that said week be observed in an appropriate manner by the people" as required by law.

A staffer called yesterday and left a message saying that "the proclamation your requested … is being completed and is ready for pickup or delivery at your convenience."

Not sure what that means.
